The bartenders are great and super nice! I would definitely recommend this to anyone that travels through Salzburg. The bartender with the blue hair is so amazing. I love this place. 10/10.

This is the ryanair version of a hostel. Everything needs to be paid extra. Worst of all they charge for bed covers, which means people can bring their own sleeping bags — so get ready for high chances for bedbugs!

Clean and the staff are very nice. However you should probably send staff to do a walk around the floors every so often at night and ask louder people to shut up. I know other people have paid to be here, but so have I, and I am a grown up. I don’t want to hear a load of school kids on a trip running round screaming.

Large room, okay for an overnight stay with 4 kids when you are on your way to Italy or Croatia.
BUT… don’t leave anything behind because it will be gone after the room has been cleaned.
I forgot my Birkenstocks and nobody found them.

Very good hostel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, spacious. The bathroom were small and clean. The only down side was the guest kitchen was very small. The fridge was insufficient for the number of rooms.

On top of having to pay for the room itself we had to pay for bedsheets (why would anyone assume this is not included in the price? ) and had to pay to store our bags in a ridiculous and expensive locker system — all other hostels I have been to provide both these for free or for a refundable deposit The room was also not clean and not at all inviting and the bathroom was not clean either. The only positive was that it was near to the station but apart from that I do not recommend staying here at all, look elsewhere for accomodation as it is not worth the price.

We reached on a Sunday and the entire place was dead. The hostel did not respond to my requests made earlier on parking or any other necessity I had. This place is highly understaffed. The beds are made of pure foam which was terrible to sleep on. We had a construction site view from the slightly open window. I ended up paying heavily for parking. The directions are not provided properly and there are no restaurants in the near vicinity. I had to go to the bahnoff to find something to eat. A&O is like a hotel that just turned itself into a hostel. The community areas are non-non-existent and the only area to meet others is in front of a poor quality projection of the match. Thank God I was only there for 1 night.

Horrible customer service both in the hostel and the company. When myself and three female friends were harassed by a large group of males in their Salzburg location not only were the staff negligent but the company's customer service was also extremely difficult to deal with. I would recommend looking elsewhere for accommodations.

I’ve been to many hostels and this is no doubt one of the worst. 1. The kitchen is tiny, the kitchen hostels I’ve been to are mostly huge, able to accommodate at least 10 people cooking at the same time but this kitchen? I would say one person at a time, no joke. And there’s rotten food inside the fridge, I wonder do the staff regularly clean the contents of the fridge. 2. They only have O. N. E laundry room in the entire hostel. So say if someone else is using it, you can’t …enter the laundry room because it’s lock, and only the person that is washing the clothes has the key, the staff doesn’t even have any idea who took the key or how long the person has been doing the laundry. GBU if the person fell asleep, no one can do their laundry at all. This is the stupidest policy I’ve come across among so many hostels. 3. The staff, yes they can be friendly or they can be pretty useless because they can’t seem to solve any problems. But one good thing about this hostel is it’s near to the main bus/train station, this I have absolutely no complain. Please sort out your laundry room key issues because it’s unacceptable to keep guests waiting for god-knows-how-long. If your hostel can host up to 100 guests then I don’t see any problem increasing the numbers of washing machine. Or don’t even put washing machine as one of your amenities.

Adequate and convenient place, but beware if you need to do laundry. There is only 1 machine that closes at 10pm, and you must get staff to unlock the room and give you tokens. Good luck not competing with other guests. Plus there are no convenient laundromats nearby, so if you need clean clothes, plan accordingly. Breakfast was decent though overpriced, and the rooms were nice (except our window was locked shut and couldn’t open). Altogether a decent place to stay inexpensively in Salzburg, which is a wonderful wonderful town. All good, just not luxury.

Nice place for overnight stays in Salzburg… Especially for the fields with numerous groups such as school or oratory.
There is an inside bar. The only flaw is the coffee in the morning: for an Italian is comparable to dirty water. Absolutely reasonable price.

Highly rated service, top clean rooms. However, I was amazed that bed linen and towels are definitely added. Unless you have your own. On the page, it sounds like only the 2nd series is to be paid for. Nevertheless, it is recommended.

Decent hostel right at the main station. Easy to go into the city and back as every bus passes by.

Everything is very simple and functional but that doesn't bother at all. Very friendly staff, clean rooms. The children are allowed to running around at breakfast times without any stupid comments coming. What do you want more for money? The proximity to the train station is great. Was very pleased.

Wonderful hostel! Very clean, spacious, on the ground floor a small bar with drinks and delicious pizza:) For a light and inexpensive snack the most.
My room on the 3rd floor was perfectly catching Wi-Fi. There is a lift, which is undeniably a big plus. Very nice rooms. Took a room for 8 people and was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very clean. In a room one combined bathroom, one separate toilet and one separate shower. The showers have hand soap, shower gel, foot towel and hair dryer! There is no feeling of embarrassment and inconvenience. Also in the room are equipped with space for outerwear.
A set of towels for free, but the underwear will have to pay. From here advice-do not take underwear at check-in. Go to the room and choose a bed, some of the bed is already covered. In this case, save on the underwear:)
Breakfast is available at the price of €7 in conclusion, excellent value for money! Recommend. Close to the train station, but quiet. Parking is free of charge.

Spacious, clean rooms. Comfortable beds, and nice amenities. I think this is the nicest hostel I've stayed in!

The hostel is actually OK, the bathroom and toilet were clean, the area of the hostel was quiet and quiet at night. The location is amazing. The breakfast is expensive but the choice is far not so wide, for this price it is not worth it.

For 2 nights absolutely sufficient and one is centrally located and can explore everything by foot or by public transport, which are very convenient. DASD Breakfast offers everything you need in the morning. We were very satisfied and definitely come back to one of the A&O facilities.

I stayed at the A+O in Salzburg for one night and upon reading the comments from some of the dissatisfied customers below, I'm beginning to think we are talking about 2 different hotels.
Everything was exactly as I had expected and I was very satisfied. The location is excellent, the street noise was very low, there was a shopping mall and several restaurants/cafés nearby as well as the Salzburg main railway station. I had appointments in this area and all I wanted was simple, clean accommodation for one night. I found that A+O Salzburg fulfilled this wish for me and at the same time it offered good value for money. The breakfast was plentiful and the breakfast area clean. If you just want to stay somewhere inexpensive but comfortable, I can recommend this hotel.

My experience here was simply amazing. It is well located being very close to the train station and also to the river which calls for a very good walk to town. Full points for cleanliness, facilities like the kitchen and common area and value for money. Definitely staying there for the next visit.

Stayed here for a couple of nights Nov 21, 22 and had a good time. It's a stone's throw from the train station. Room is spacious, clean, the common kitchen can be used for cooking. We had an early checkin as soon as we landed. All in all a very good experience.

Rooms are spacious. Bathrooms were extremely clean. The place centrally located n very close to the train station and city. Overall a great place to stay.

With little expectations we arrived and were definitely surprised! It was certainly not the last visit!

The perfect stay for your trips. If you are looking for some place to rest over the night and carry on with your trip in the morning, this is highly recommended. Very near and tidy and has all the basic necessities and the cost is the one that would amaze you the most. Very cheap and affordable.

I booked a 6 room dorm for 5 people for three nights here. Firstly, I was told once I arrived that there would be an additional charge of €40 for bed sheets and linen which wasn't clearly stated before I had booked and paid through your website. Secondly, all windows in our room did not function to open which is both unhygienic and unsafe for everyone staying in the room, especially due to the fact that both the shower and toilet were located in the room too and also due to the fact that we were spending more than one night in the room. I am certain that I won't rushing to stay back in this hostel or any A&O hostels in the near future if the standard of care and diligence for users isn't met to basic standards.

Nice place to stay in Salzburg for those who travel on a budget. Near train and bus station. Attractive prices, nice bar, nice people. You can leave your luggage in the storage room. I recommend for backpackers.

Yesterday we met in this hotel group from Belarus. Parking for tourist buses there. And Park is sent under the highway that is not very convenient. Prices for a hotel of the middle class seemed to me a tall. The location is quite good — near train station, near the shopping center. Near the hotel there is a bus stop. The historic centre can be reached by bus or walk 10-15 minutes.

Room clean and pretty, I was in a 6 bedded dorm but it was well run, possibility of having a lock for the closet in the room.
Too bad they only speak German and English, I had some problems at the front desk.

Check in was very confusing, the lady at reception clearly didn't know what she was doing, I waited in the queue for 30min to be told my room wasn't ready until 3pm — it does say in the website that check in is at 3pm anyway but other hostels would at least check the possibility of an early check in, not this one though. There is a reason for that, they charge you around $4 to store your luggage. They asked me if I had brought my bed sheets (of course not! Who travels with bed sheets?! ) yes, that's another £3, 50 extra, then another £3 for the towel and you have to make your own bed There was not enough power sockets for all of us in the room and none near my bed The dorms are on the ground floor just behind the train tracks, from 5:30am the noise was unbelievable. It's overrated and all the extras you have to pay you'd be better off staying in another hostel. It's near the station but far from everything else, definitely not staying there again and would not recommend.

Great location if traveling by train. Clean rooms, bathrooms, and common areas. Friendly staff. Breakfast is okay. Building has a lot of empty space. There should be more Tables and chairs in those empty areas. There should be more power outlets available for people with laptops.

Young modern feel to the lobby and dining areas. Sound insulation between rooms is poor though. You can easily hear the clash if furniture from the neighbouring rooms. Paid a budget price so can't expect everything to be perfect.

Very good position in the city, close to the train station and main bus lines. Rooms are minimalistic, but really clean and functional. The breakfast is convenient with many different choices. Personnel is efficient and able to provide basic information.

Very modern hostel-conveniently located, good value for money, and helpful and friendly staff (who speak both English and German excellently). Room was a good size and breakfast was adequate. One issue I had was the fact that for a hostel of that size, there was only one washing machine and drier, meaning I had to wait until 1:30am to finish doing my laundry. Otherwise a pleasant stay and would stay again.

The hotel was clean and located right near the main station. But apart from that, one has to pay for bed linen and towel. Also, they ask you to use "pay and use" lockers when you arrive before the 3 pm check-in time and for average sized bags, the locker charges can be 4 euros. Same for the check-out day. Lucky for that after arguing for a while, the receptionist let me keep my bags in the ski-room. But I guess I was lucky! I would not recommend a hostel like this which charges you for luggage for a few hrs before check-in and after checkout.

Very big, open hostel. Clean, simple, very nice private rooms w/ own bathroom. Good bar and late night food open 24hrs. Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxing 25min walk along the river to city center.

Not a bad hotel, but rooms were tiny. Barly enough room to open the suitcases, but everything worked okay.

Budget Hotel A 15 minute walk from the center. Good breakfast. For those who want to spend little and want to stay near the center is a great solution.

I liked the attention of the Hostel, but it is not nice.

There is a reason why the A&O Salzburg is considered the flashship store of the A&O chain. It got renovated recently and looks awesome now. We had very friendly and young staff that liked to explain everything to us. Our room was clean and new. However, it was kinda dark due to the buildings that surround the hotel room, so it felt a bit of a prison cell. Also, you can not open the windows fully. You can only tilt it. Furthermore, the website do not explain clearly that you need a hanger lock for the closet. All in all, we enjoyed our stay. If you consider to be out and about the whole day anyway and only need a hotel room to rest, the A&O is doing a great job for that!

The rooms are quite spacious. The breakfast is very complete.

We were quite happy with the window that did not completely open or close. And the shower head could also flow much more water. For long hair very unsuitable!

The room was very spacious. New furniture. The only minus is the stairs inside the floor, which means that the suitcases had to climb up the stairs and the elevator was not able to reach the room.

— parking must be paid. Room very dark and it can only be ventilated poorly. Beds go very easy from each other.

Rooms were clean and new. Stayed in an 8 person room, 2 bathrooms and 2 showers in the room. It was very large with more than enough lockers in the room for everyone. 2 sets of bunk beds and 4 single beds. Only 4 outlets in the entire room other than the ones in the bathroom.

In a two-day stay during a school trip, excellent and entertaining stay in a spacious room (021), bright and clean (from 6 people, with 2 bathrooms and 2 TVs). Despite there being the train station next door, the noise was not annoying. Functional location in the centre of the city, easily accessible by public transport or on foot. I will be back!

It has a very good location, it is clean, the guys at the front desk are friendly, but the room that touched me was very noisy and the mattress was very bad.

It was a nice Hotel but not Clean at all. Still had some hair in the shower and I had to tell them to change the bedding since I had some old (blood) marks and couldn't sleep the whole night. Really friendly personal.

A very comfortable hotel and a good price if you tell them you're a family, then you sneak up and ready.

Very well located, with the car everything was quickly reachable. The adjacent car park cost only 4, €50 for 1 day. Well superior whether you leave the car and take a bus to the tour. Service staff was very friendly and the rooms clean and spacious. So all in all very well.

I spent two nights stay at A&O hostel Salzburg. Its near from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof just 5 minutes walk. The check in was quite fast. And its worth the money I pay. Recommended.

We are from the 11.10 — 13.10.2016 here. The hotel rooms are simple but very clean. Bed is comfortable, nice bathroom. Breakfast (all you can eat), abundant, from sweet to savory. People at the Check in are very nice, and before I could introduce myself, anyway, knew my name. Cool
The Hotel is centrally located, bus right around the corner. Walk in the old town, approx. 1000m. I can only recommend. Top notch for the small purse.

I honestly can not say how disappointed I am with this hostel. We arrived rather late, had to wait 40 minutes to be checked in, and then when we did the lady informed us that we'd have to change rooms twice as they had stuffed up the booking process. As frustrating as that was, we accepted it and stayed two nights, changing each time. On the third night we arrived to a completely trashed room. There were clothes, earbuds, even rubbish from a girls pad packaging on the bed. Not to mention the smell-it was truly awful. So we went to politely ask the reception to change rooms and they said that they couldn't as it was all booked out and they can't give another guest a 'dirty room'… We weren't offered any refund or anything, just told that "there was nothing they could do" so we had to stay in a filthy room. Not to mention we had to pay a €20 deposit for a bowl to eat cereal in the morning. Honestly I would avoid this place at all costs. The staff are rude and unhelpful and the rooms are gross. Really disappointing as we paid in excess of €300 to stay.
