We were very uncomfortable during our stay. On arrival we were told our room didnt allow children. We had booked through a third party that brought that room up whilst searching for 2 adults and 1 child. We received a lecture on how we should have booked straight through her. Said she would allow my daughter (6yo) to stay as last time it was a baby that made to much noise and she had to refund other rooms. My husband asked for a tax receipt, we were told ot would be $10 to print it and had to listen to 10 minutes of how it was booked through a third party and it takes her time to print it. Finally shown to our room. Husband lays on bed abd the European pillows still have the plastic bags they were purchased in. Very noisey. After 15 mins the owner returns (just enters room). Informs me that it is possible to book the room on the site we used with a child but it shouldnt be. She mentioned she was the only place in York to have two beds in a room. I mentioned it actually said the room had a King and a queen, apparently its meant to say Queen and king single (room was a double and a standard single). Continued on about how much they charge her and we should have booked through her. Finally she left. We felt so uncomfortable. My poor daughter was shhhed everytime she spoke as we were anxious we may make too much noise. We ended up leaving the room and going to dinner, not returning until bedtime. Morning we were woken by the loud chatter of the caretakers which our room was next to. York is a lovely place. We wouldn't stay in this motel again. Shower had mold, no pressure and a narrow flow. Limited power points. Had two lamps but could only plug one in. Right next to train track.

Nightly rates from $113
