What a wonderful high tea staff were friendly and so helpful. They made our experience just lovely.

Previously I have enjoyed wonderful lunches and service. Today all of us enjoyed the High Tea especially as you catered for the vegetarian and diabetic in our group. Once again great service and delicious treats. I would certainly recommend the venue to anyone interested in dining there.

First time there yesterday for a high tea. BEST high tea so delicious/fresh and SUCH Amazing service! Such good value for money and our waitress Christina Habis was beyond amazing and accommodating! A word of warning… you would have to really, really search a long time to find a selection of meals more staggeringly bad than the pigswill served up by the kitchen for their so called ‘Brunch Experience’ this morning. The wait staff were patient in the face of stunning incompetence from the buffoons prepping the food. ALL services were stone cold and bore very little resemblance to the grandiosely over-described items on the menu. Exhibit (a) — the ‘scrambled eggs with p…rawns, green papaya and shallots’ actually were some tasteless eggs scraped from the bottom of a Bain Marie with a limp wristed $2.00 Asian salad from coles chucked on the side together with a couple of canned shrimps. Avoid at all costs and yes. If you thought the InterContinental Adelaide (Adelaide, South Australia) had its food poisoning and food prep issues behind it, I would be very surprised if that was the case.

Loved my stay for my 60th. Very memorable. Nothing was to much trouble. The bed & pillows were delightful.

Stayed at this hotel during a bussiness trip. Beautiful hotel, well presented, excellent professional service, great rooms with comfortable beds. If you can get secure a discount rate, take it!

The staff and service here were amazing. We also loved the clean comfortable and large room. The buffet breakfast was delicious.

I recently stayed here but unfortunately arrived at the hotel quite ill from suspected food poisoning. The reception and concierge were great and sent water to my room and asked if I needed a Dr. The next morning I called to see if I could get a late check out however as the hotel was full they said they could not keep me in my room but they could move me. 2 hours later I received a call and they said they had managed to juggle some rooms and I could stay in my room until 2pm — NOW THAT is what I call going above and beyond. THANK YOU to all involved you helped me recover by being able to stay put VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. Well done.

Mr O has experienced a really nice stay at the Intercontinental Hotel in Adelaide. The staff were friendly, the location was excellent, the views were nice, and the gym was great. From the time we walked through the front door to the time it closed behind us — we had a brilliant stay — bar mgr and staff were amazing — food was delicious — proximity to sights fantastic and car rentals are across the road as we ventured into the hills. Superb weekend.

Very friendly and courteous staff. Service is good and my room had a great view of Adelaide Oval. Lounge bar snack menu could be expanded a little. On site restaurants serve good food. Not an inexpensive hotel but you certainly are looked after.

This is an older hotel but still nice and well maintained. Rooms are a good size and furnishings seemed well kept. However there is no business centre — only a few computers located in the lobby. We didn’t have a chance to try the breakfast or any of the hotel restaurants. Location is great — close to shopping, the river (and the stadium), and the museum/art gallery. Staff were all very friendly — when there was an issue with the valet parking, the staff sent an apology to the room and removed that day’s charge from the bill.

Love this hotel. Great location and staff. Yes it is an older luxury hotel but we found it (easter 2018) to be well maintained. Would highly recommend including buffet breakfast.

Came here to meet friends who were staying there for breakfast. Breakfast was absurdly expensive $37 per person for some toast, artificial/powered scrambled eggs, fruit, and small pastries. The waitress came at the start and said that we could order poached eggs or an omelette, however we never saw her again. No one came to our table at all and staff were aloof. Very disappointed and left hungry. Recommend you save your money as it is not worth it.

Overall ok but bit over priced & overated.
Valet parking was a joke, paid $40 for the privilege. Parked our car at the end of the driveway nearly on North Terrace when we checked in at 3.
Walked up with our cases to hand the keys over to the Valet. That night at 11 our car was still on the same spot as it was in the morning.
When we checked out we grabbed the keys & picked up the car ourselves. So they did nothing. Mentoined it on checking out & was told it’s off the road so it’s Valet parking & had to pay. Was not impressed.
Also ordered cocktails in the bar & waited 30 minutes as no one brought them over my wife had to go & ask for them. By then the ice had melted & it was like water.
Won’t be back in a hurry.

They're good. Not because they get everything right every time, but rather because whenever they do mess something up, they acknowledge it and fix it. They are very, very professional. I like staying at this place everything is really good.

We called in after spending an afternoon at Charred in Victoria Square. We were hot and thirsty and found a delightful oasis. We experienced excellent service, cool drinks and listened to lovely piano music while enjoying the cool atmosphere and view.

Nice large rooms and great continental breakfast.

Great hotel! Great facilities, fantastic staff and service and excellent location. Room felt luxurious and was on expectation for the 5 stars. Shower seemed to be half built, you could look up and see a cracked up roof.

The hotel is fine but I will never come back. Upgraded to the Club room but again the hotel decides loyal customer should not be given club access. What a joke. I am done with IHG. Will move to Hilton next door tomorrow. Adios.

Excellent staff at the counters. We were always met with a cheerful smile from all corners. The rooms were big enough. Beds are comfortable. Located next to the rail station and the iconic stadium. The riverside walk location behind the hotel is ideal for a run or evening walk.

What a place. Love it. Got engaged there. Manager gave us free champagne announced to all. The valentine room was so beautiful. Staff freindly and food beautiful Go there again.

The InterContinental Hotel is very well located, close to one of the main shopping regions in Adelaide (Rundle Mall) where you find all sorts of shops and stores. It is also located inside an urban area with bike lanes and surrounded by parks (including the Adelaide Zoo and the Adelaide Botanic Garden), so renting a bike to get to know the place is a great idea. The hotel itself is beautiful and spacious, with good views and a decoration that reminds 1980's. The staff is helpful and welcoming, and rumor has it that the restaurant serves amazing burgers.

My husband & I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary @ the InterCon this weekend. Our stay from start to finish was fabulous. We were checked in by Alice who was efficient & friendly. We headed in to the Riverside restaurant for high coffee which was a delicious experience. This was our 2nd time at high coffee — we liked it so much last time we returned! The staff were friendly & helpful. Our room was lovely with a river view & great facilities. My husband loved the pillow menu. Our buffet breakfast had great variety & was continuously restocked. Our 2 waitresses Sophie & Sophie were friendly & professional. The restaurant was so hectic but the staff worked well under pressure. We will definitely return.

Room nice size but not clean. Tissues and crisp packets under the dresser. Took 4 requests for the room to be tidied. Everyone apologetic but no-one did anything.

Lovely, clean and charming hotel by a beautiful waterway. Hotel staff are always gracious and welcoming. Very convenient location. Train station is right beside it. A 24hrs convenience store right across the road, albeit a tad expensive. Easy access to the nearest Shopping centers. Free Public transportation around the city area.

Stayed on the 22nd floor and has access to the club lounge on 21st floor. I was here for nearly 2 weeks and loved every minute of this hotel. Room was spotlessly clean, food was excellent. Shower was probably the best Ive ever seen in a hotel. Awesome location for access to every part of downtown. Would give 6 stars if I could.

The atrium bar does nice mocktails and cocktails. The room we had was during daily 45°c heat waves, the air-conditioning wasn't powerful enough to cope (or maybe it needs the filters cleaned? ) The hotel policy was to close the pool at 8pm. I loved the art around the hotel and concierge were obliging. There is NO parking at the hotel so we had to use the valet or pay for parking elsewhere. Approx $40 daily rate.

High end hotel. Very classy. Very nice gym. Very nice pool. Everything is very nice. There are also very service minded. By the way the price is also very high. Breakfast is more than 30 dollars. But it's also … Very good.

I went to Shiki restaurants for NYE dinner and it was a fantastic food experience. Great seafood and good service in a nice setting. The only problem is poor ventilation which makes you smell like butter or oil after an hour or so of dining.

Lovely hotel in a good location in Adelaide CBD. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Facilities are well maintained. I did not rate 5 stars due to the dated decor and the buffet breakfast selections. Still great, but could be improved.

Clean and luxurious rooms with all amenities available. Gym was reasonably sized and not too busy. Convenient location for both tourists and business travellers! Room service was prompt, and food was delightful.

This place is Awsome! Rooms are Very dated tho! Service was the best you'd experience anywhere. So friendly and helpful. The view as great over the river and stadium. The hotel is close to city and is right next to the casino which is also Awsome! All rooms have a good mini bar and the bathrooms have good personal kits.

My husband & I stay two nights at InterContinental Adelaide & it was so good. The valet parking was a nice touch when they open your door & the Staff were so professional & customer friendly they made you feel at home. It was an experience we won"t forget. The View from our room was so gorgeous & they have a good view on the river.

Great location but really becoming dated. This hotel was built in the 80s, when you are in the Bar next look at the roof, and you can see that its about to fall in! Staff are friendly and always offer great service.

Dated luxury. If you would like to live the lifestyle of rich and famous 1987 then this is the destination for you. Once a shining jewel of sophistication, today the decor is gauche and at times blatant cultural appropriation. This could all be overlooked if the service was first class, but it simply is not. Prepare to pay a premium price for a mediocre, if opulent, experience. I'm glad I stayed, just to say that I have. But I would not go back. There are better luxury accommodation options in Adelaide.

It was my first time in Adelaide and I was afraid I would get lost trying to find food once I touched down but the hotel is centrally located so shops and restaurants were literally a stone's throw away. The room was so lovely, spacious and it felt so homey. The bed was big and inviting which explains why I spent a huge portion of my stay there. The staff were lovely and so willing to assist me when I asked them for directions. Room service was 24 hours and they had a lovely selection of cuisines. Being away from home for most of the month, I usually get some comfort food to overcome the homesickness so I was so happy to find some fried rice on there. All in all a very great stay, wished it was longer. I would definitely be back.

Loved it! Impeccable customer service, attentive staff, great facilities and I can honestly say I had one of the best sleeps I ever had here. If I could intravenously administer the experience of sleeping in that king bed and nestling my head in those pillows, I'd be a happy man. I'll be sure to return next time I'm in Adelaide.

Stayed here for a short city break. Room was very nice, well presented; some noise from hallway/adjacent rooms (e. G. : TV noise), but not so much as to be disturbing. The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is excellently located for exploring the city.

We stayed for one night and upgraded to the intercontinental club, which was amazing. We enjoyed the pre dinner drinks and nibbles service as well as a room on level 21 with a stunning view of the river. It was raining during our stay and to our delight the hotel room had an umbrella in the cupboard which we could use, what a nice addition. I highly recommend recommend staying!

Overall a good experience! The staff at the cocktail lounge could be a little faster with the service and learn how to make cocktails correctly. The room we stayed in was a fairly old and could do with a make over. Shiki restaurant was the highlight of the evening, amazing. The breakfast was also very nice and the staff were very accommodating.

Warm welcome upon arrival with pleasing valet parking will surprise you. Conveniently located in the City. Very informative concierge will give you a very useful guidance for your visits to wineries. Excellent restaurant.

Really enjoyed Happy Hour from 5 — 7 pm at the Intercontinental Hotel on Friday night. The hot chips were superb and the pizza tasty. There is a lack of tables and chairs so plan yo get there early, especially on a Crows home game.

Hey! Just want to shout out to the gentleman named Indra working at the bar area late on Friday night. The guy is an absolute gem and an asset to the business. Super positive attitude even though they had called last drinks and were pretty much ready to close up. Really impressed my partner and I who also work in the hospitality industry… We know that good feedback is rare. He definetly deserves a nod. Cheers.

The service was fantastic. Very attentive, helpful and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The food was great. The only thing I could fault was the beer selection. Great for a quiet romantic dinner.

Had a city getaway at the Intercontinental. Just stayed in the standard room on the 19th room. Room was fine and we were on the non-view side. Bathroom was dated yet still quite glamorous with its marble tiles. The bath was quite big and the water pressure was nice. The best part of our stay was the service and buffet breakfast. We NEVER get breakfast when we stay at a hotel, but we got a deal this time. The spread was amazing, with lots of gluten free options, plus the options of cooked eggs, pancakes, and waffles cooked by the chef. Service was great, everyone was very friendly.

The staff here was one of the friendliest I have ever encountered! No small feat since I travel a lot. My room was very elegant with a pink all marble bathroom. The views of the river andt the oval when there was a game were great! The food was good too. Their steaks were good though pricey.

Simply gorgeous and a great value price. We didn't get the river view room ($40 extra) which would be a superb view, but the room did not let us down. Awesome bed, and a shower that I'd have paid double for. Gorgeous all over. Wonderful service from staff who fell over themselves to help us. Best buffet breakfast in Adelaide. Will come again.

After flying internationally for 10 hours my boss arrived to find her accommodation booking had been cancelled. As per PA I had phoned the Intercontinental to book an extra room and advised she would be arriving at 9.00 am I was assured by the lovely lady who answered the phone she would record this a file note. Not a pleasant experience at all.

I was waken up at 5:20am by the sound of the water running in the pipes just behind the bed's head as my neighbour was taking his shower. It's the first time I get such poor noise insulation in this type of hotel. The bottom of the pool was full of sand/dust and the iron was ridiculously old making the ironing of my business shirt a real pain.

Room was lovely but the service was poor! I checked in, they gave me a wrong key. That room was occupied by someone else. I had to go back to the lobby and asked for another room. Staff was super ignorant. At the end of my stay, they charged me twice for both rooms! unbelievable! I rang and they were too busy to answer my call.

Went to a wedding there on Saturday (last). I was soooo impressed with the setup in thei grand ballroom downstairs. Wow, they really did do a good setup and the place looked lovely. Breathtaking, in fact. The entre was sort of ok, but the main was perfect. Just hate the stairs in my heels and the lifts are a bit of a walk. Maybe some kind of escalator would be nice. Maybe I'm thinking about shopping again lol. I would really recommend you think about this place if you want a lavish wedding. I can't imagine it being too cheap though.

Be aware. I booked for a 3 night stay costing me over $750 and unfortunately fell ill on the first day. They refused to refund ANY of the money and also refused to allow me to reschedule for another time. Extremely poor.

Once again the Intercontinental Adelaide out did themselves. A very big thank you to Guest Relations Manager Morgan and staff, everyone made us and our family and friends touched, knowing our story again morgan made my husband's final fathers day incredibly touching. Our suite on the 24th Floor was so luxurious, large, clean and great views of our beautiful state. Breakfast was amazing, it was busy but table and service 5 Star, valet parking professional and easy again 5 star. If you are reading reviews to find out if not up to scratch. Think again. Beautiful building and staff. Thank you look forward in staying very soon.
