We have been travelling around Australia for 5 weeks now and have had experience of a variety of different hostels. This hostel was spacious and clean, but the customer service in comparison to other hostels has been poor. Very stingy for the price we paid. Unless you book everything through them they are unwilling to cooperate. Even simple things like asking to use their phone to confirm an airport transfer wasn’t okay, and we were told we had to use a pay phone. Other hostels did this without question. Wi-Fi was pretty poor and no breakfast or even hot drinks were available. If it’s basic you want then this place tied us over, but if you want value for money then I would advise going somewhere else.

More relaxed than other hostels in Airlie Beach. Kitchen is nice and rooms are clean.

Good rooms with balconies with no view of well-equipped kitchen with enough space.

Rooms are pretty basic, looks like a block of flats with standard kitchen and common room.

Great Fantastic food, cold beer and great view. What else you need!

Be aware: no communal activities offered, unlike in most YHAs. Really a shame, so far there was always something going on in the other YHAs: wine tasting, yoga, free pancakes etc. so it's more an "individualistic" hostel, where everyone stays by her/him-self. Cleaning was ok & rooms basic, but hostel needs a bit of investment. Overall for YHA a bit disappointing, better go for Magnum hostel Son of owner plays aggressively table tennis with his friends and keeps guests away from the communal room.

Terrible rude and unfriendly staff. The manager-on-duty accused me of stealing from the free food section and threatened to call the police. When I told him to review the cemeras they claimed to have to prove to themselves that I infact took MY OWN grocery bag, he stared making up excuses I couldnt understand, never apologized and just kept going around in circles. Do yourself a favor and stay at base backpackers or magnums, friendly staff with integrity, respect and common sense.

Better value places to stay. Room wasn't too clean but smelt of bleach with no ventilation.

This hostel was perfect for what we wanted. Our private room was lovely, quite small but with air con and a balcony it was perfect for us. Shared bathroom was clean and spacious too. The pool was a nice size. Communal areas were fine but not a lot to do. The kitchen was big and always very clean. The location is the hostel is excellent right on the main street lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Staff were friendly at check in, but didn't have any other dealings with them. Our room wasn't cleaned while we stayed there a week, I understand it isn't a hotel but our bin wasn't empited so this wasn't very nice. Not a very social hostel as they don't have a bar or put on any activities for the guests at night time for example. I would stay again just as it is in a really good location in Airlie.

Great place. Balcony rooms well catered kitchen and a pool and right in the town.

Booked a room though a 20mins phone call but when I arrived was not in their system. They fix it for higher price. And everything there is about money. Put luggage for one night 5 aud and have to buy a extra lock to lock it for 5aud. Shower not during check in hour is extra 5aud … all in all they become more expensive than a much better one magnum hostel in town! very unfriendly reception as I ask anything about the town, there is either no response or money! Stuff looks super annoyed by any question besides check in or pay for extra services. Make weird jokes that not funny at all! I guess I booked not with hostel world and only one night so they think I cannot leave any review about it! Well here I am. Never lived a hostel with so unhappy feeling. They need improve their attitude towards solo travelers!

The staff here really were brilliant, Emily went out of her way to help me with several things regarding making my stay as easy as possible surrounding logistics of trips and excursions I had booked. She was able to store baggage and be really flexible for me which was a fantastic help. The rooms were clean and the bathroom had a great shower. I would defo stay here again on another visit.

Booked a room and right after that got a job offer where I would have to leave right away. I was really broke so I tried to cancel the booking right away, but they wouldn't give me a refund. Everywhere else I've gotten some help with that like half of the money back or something. But here the answer was a simple no, leaving me without any money and really screwed. So apparently you really don't care about your visitors as long as you get your money. Won't come there again.

Stayed for the music festival, was the prime location to walk to everything especially the main stage! Out room that we chose had sufficient amenities and was clean today and quiet. Thanks for the memories we'll be back next year.

Clean and well maintained hostel. Close from all the commodities but quiet. Air-conditioning for very hot days. Friendly staff.

Nice view and good location. Pub and pool downstairs. Rooms are a little out of date but clean bedding and big balconies with view compensate it. Just shot walk to two liquor shops and woolies. Plenty other option for eating out around.

I don't recommend this place for people who came from overseas. You will be discrimineted and you will have the worst experience.

We stayed in a family room. It was very spacious and hostel is located next to the beach. It's close to Woolsworth and right in the market area. There are many travel booking houses nearby which can give great deals.

Quiet hostel, good facilities including a big kitchen, well located if you want to sleep.

We Arrived in Airlie Beach Hotel just before Cyclone Debbie The hotel was very central and good size we had a balcony overlooking the beach The reason for my writing a review is to praise and thank the reception girls Renee and Kylie they were superb in all that they did to make sure our stay was a good one When it came to evacuate they both were so helpful and made everything possible making sure we were safe. A big big thank you.

Fantastic staff, looked after everyone who stayed behind during the hurricane/cyclone particularly senior management. Coped with the pressure and damage caused by the storm extremely well. Very pleased I met all those who stayed behind and would very much recommend it; helpful to all including those who came in after the initial danger passed. 5 stars.

Have stayed twice now, at hotel and motel. Both rooms were clean, attractive. Great location.

Friendly staff, adequate space, good price, and super convenient location. Room finishings dated or worn however at the price point and location it's hard to complain.

Excellent location-very close to the marina to catch boats for day trips to the Whitsundays. Right next to lovely bars & restaurants. Friendly staff, free car park, clean and spacious rooms. Could use a little make over though.

Stayed in a twin room. Nice bed and and silent rooms with an own balcony. Excellent staff who was very helpful with booking activities and knowledgeable about the area. Also got discount on activities because I'm staying at the Yha when booking activities.

Very comfortable hostel. The room was a nice size and had everything we needed! Friendly staff.

Rather clean, though the guest bathroom smells nasty. Kitchen is nice (clean and well laid out) staff seemed helpful enough. Location is pretty fantastic — quite central in my opinion. Short walk to the hostel from bus station. Don't walk along road, if you follow along the shore and use some common sense you can get there is under 10 minutes.

Great YHA! Nice kitchen, large rooms. But get in your room early if you want to be close to an air conditioner.

I tried two different rooms, both smelled of mold so just settled for the second one. The private room ranges between 81 dollars and 90 dollars (depending on whether it includes a private bathroom or not) which is quite pricey for what you are getting in terms of room size and condition of facilities). The girl at the reception desk looked very tired but was happy to help me with any request I had.

Free Wi-Fi, great location close to shops, restaurants and amenities, staff were friendly, good views from the ocean front rooms. Highly recommended.

Great friendly service every time I go here in all of their venues. Highly recommend anyone coming to town to check this place out.

I had a great casual dinner at Mangrove jacks, the wood fired pizza is fantastic.

Thought the food here was fairly average. Typical pub food.

We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Whitsunday Islands. This is a well located hotel with many amenities and convenient shops and restaurants within walking distance. Our room was spacious and clean. The best assets the hotel has is its staff, always cheerful and happy to oblige. Nothing is too much for them.

We actually stayed in the motel after our hotel had double booked us. The staff and amenities were great and it had the most amazing position.

It's amazaballs. Very clean, reception staff are willing to cut off their right arm for you! If I was to choose 1 place in the world to go back to i'd choose Airlie Beach YHA. Oohh yeah & the managers a cutie!

Really enjoyed my stay at Airlie Beach Hotel. They really are in the center of everything. Staff are professional and courteous. So pleased.

The room I stayed in was great. I love the over look of the beach coastal, it was so relaxing. A friend of mine tried the Village View hotel room and said it was also great! I love the food in Mangrove Jacks Café, it was delicious and the place was entertaining at the same time. And the Customer Service? 5 stars for you Airlie Beach Hotel! Great Customer service. My girlfriend really enjoyed it and me as well. I'm sure to come back again! :).

Loved the ocean room view. Decor very nice and very convenient with their restaurants right their. Always stay there when I am passing through.

Prawn pizza was fantastic the best will be back great service.

We stayed here for a week with our two children. We had a fantastic time. The owners Phillip and his wife were extremely helpful and lovely to deal with. The apartments are in a excellent location. We will definately stay there again and highly recommend anyone going to Airlie Beach to stay there!

I stayed in a six share women's dorm, with ensuite bathroom. It's central to Airlie Beach, and kept clean by staff. You can hear the nightclub (when it's going) at night, but bring earplugs if you're sensitive to such things. Kitchen facilities were very civilized.
