Just the restaurant, disappointing meal service ok but the cook must have shares in the salt industry! 3 different dishes way oversalted, the wine was good though.

Unfortunately this is no longer a “fine dining” restaurant. The food standards and quality have dropped significantly since new ownership. Very disappointed.

The Shakespeare motel is centrally located, a short walk to Wood St with restaurants and cafes galore, as well as being located close up the CBD. The rooms themselves were spacious and well looked after, with all the amenities — the room we had included a spa bath which was amazing. Staff were more than friendly and were happy to give recommendations to help our stay. There's also a well reviewed restaurant and the continental breakfast was excellent.

Staff were very nice and helpful. Rooms very clean. I stayed in a penthouse apartment. I have raved about these rooms to everyone.

Very basic old-fashioned motel. My wife an I are aged in our seventies and find it difficult (and dangerous) to use the shower in the bath — especially as there are no hand (Grab) rails. Also water in shower is boiling hot one moment and then freezing cold the next. There are many better motels in Mackay with proper showers and settable shower temperatures. Would not stay there again for these reasons.

My bridesmaid and myself stayed here the night before my wedding. Such a big room, we were very happy. The staff couldn’t have helped us enough will definitely recommended other ladies stay here.

A group of us were bowling in a carnival nextdoor and we stayed overnight. Friendly service and well priced comfy rooms. The motel restaurant Romeo & Juliets was a pleasant surprise with very tasty food on offer and the included breakfast was very adequate.

Decor is dated and food is a little pricey, but we had great service and our meals were delicious. Will be back!

During our 5 weeks in Australia we stayed at 18 hotels/motels and this one was the absolute best for the money we paid. Modern, very clean, tastefully furnished, breakfast included, showers and Wi-Fi were great. Also a little kitchen well equiped. Not forgetting wonderfully friendly staff. We strongly recommend it. I stayed at Shakespeare's in December (for work) for 2 nights and was very pleased with what they offer. The rooms are simple however maintained well and the food available in the restaurant was great. The staff are very welcoming and will go out of their way to ensure your stay is a good one. I will defiantly call again when I visit Mackay.

The staff are very friendly, the rooms are comfortable. A 10 minute walk to the shopping centre or middle of town.

We came for dinner over the weekend and had the most amazing entrées, mains and dessert! The pork belly melted in your mouth, and choc lava cake was devine. Highly recommend these guys for a romantic dinner out :-) can't believe we haven't eaten here sooner. Also, staff were lovely, and prices were decent! Can't wait to come back for more.
