I stayed at this hotel many years ago, and it's OK in general. In recent years, a Shanghai couple management, after living a night, feeling is worse than the worst. The decoration of the room is too old but not willing to spend money to repair, their own east patchwork repair, corner of a few scary holes, wires from the wall exposed, the whole room emits a musty odor. When I complained to the hotel, the Shanghai couple replied, why don't you want to see how beautiful the view is from the window? The Shanghai woman was more immediately angry and cursed the export. My comment to this hotel is: to the ghosts and far away.

Great location with an amazing view of both the city and the ocean. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

The Penthouses used to be a great place to stay in our annual trip to the Gold Coast. Previously you would find 3.5 star accomodation and a great property management crew who would help with recommendations on local places to eat, best prices of tickets, etc. Recently there has been a marked decline in the quality of accomodation on offer and a change in the property management team onsite. We found heaps of people packed into an apartment, well above the bedding limits and that they were skimping on cleaning. A real estate agent told us that the local management team was interfering with agent viewings of apartments for sale, trying to put potential buyer's off and then making an offer well below market value to buy units in the place to rent out themselves. There are much better places on the Gold Coast these days to stay even if it means an extra minute's walk to the beach — try elsewhere.

When we got there we had to clean almost everything as it was pretty dirty but other than that I have enjoyed myself.

I checked into this property for my friend's 40th weekend away — 6 of us so booked a 3 bedroom apartment. Though the pics on the website look absolutely amazing, when we drove up to the property, we were a tad disappointed as it looks dull and old. The tone of the owner added further to our disappointment — he was quite rude and not welcoming at all. Very poor customer service. The apartment itself was quite spacious — with fabulous uninterrupted view of the ocean and the beach. We were at the ground floor so we could just walk up to the beach from our patio… that was definitely the only positive — the location of the apartment. The pool was dirty — seems has not been cleaned for weeks! The apartment also it appeared had not been cleaned properly. Even some of the dishes in the kitchen had stained. The owner should watch his tone and the apartments need a bit of refurbish. Location is the only saving grace!

This place has huge potential to be amazing. Our room was big, absolute beachfront. BUT the negatives outweighed this and made our weekend rather uncomfortable. The unit we stayed in was far from 4 star. There is no air conditioning and a ceiling fan in only one of the 3 bedrooms. I found a pedestal fan in a cupboard and it was so rusty and dusty, I'd rather sweat than use it. Everything was filthy. The blinds are mouldy, the cleaners hadn't dusted in a while. Dust everywhere. The couch cushions were stained. The furniture in the bedrooms are broken. There have been dodgy, cheap wall patch ups, cracks, paint peeling. The spa bath was wonderful and couldn't wait to turn the jets on… they don't work! We made the best of it but it's horrible when you pay over $300 per night for a room that you don't feel comfortable in. The owners need to invest some money and bring this unit back to what it deserves to be. And if I was management, I'd be sacking the cleaner. The place simply didn't feel clean at all. Management were nice enough. But we are disappointed with our overall experience unfortunately.

The only thing this place has going for it is it's proximity to the beach. It's absolutely beach front. That's where the positives stop. The unit we stayed in (# 1, ground floor) was so old and run-down. The blinds were all stained, the walls throughout and bedroom doors are filthy, the cupboards in the bedrooms are all falling apart, there is paint peeling off the walls in places, the decor is so outdated, I felt like I'd stepped back in time to the 80's (bright red laminate kitchen and bathroom cabinets for example). I could not relax in this place as I felt uncomfortable touching everything! For the price you pay to stay here, you'd think the owners of the units would invest a little bit more money keeping the place tidy and modern. Parking is an issue if you have more than one car. Street parking is virtually impossible, visitors parks (4 in total) are always full. Won't be back.

These ocean front apartments are well set up. We were in a three bedroom apartment and thoroughly enjoyed the setup: fully furnished. Some of were able to see the rugby on Foxtel. Highly recommended.

Overall enjoyed our stay. Having an entire floor to yourself does have its good points and having beach front views from multiple rooms was great. Air conditioning might have improved it but the sea breeze was great. A few bits of maintenance did need to be completed which detracted from the experience. Pretty enjoyable though.

Loved our location, staff very friendly and accommodating, apartment was perfect for our family, definitely recommend for a relaxed holiday in a beautiful area.

Staff rude, though I loved the accomodation. We checked in on 12/02/2016. Requested for a late Sunday check-out and was more than pleased when she agreed to extend our check out by 2 hours. We enjoyed extending our morning in bed following a night out. 15 minutes prior to checking out (all readily dressed and packed-up), I felt my blood sugar levels were very low and was feeling weak. There was no sugar in the room. So, I rushed to reception to request for sugar so l could make a sugary drink. I was met by the same lady who had checked us in, only this time she wasn't pleasant when I requested for sugar. She told me I was meant to be checking out and that I should not delay her as she had to leave at exactly 12:00. I told her I will be down for 12:00 and I needed the sugar urgently. She went away and came back without the sugar and told me she couldn't find any sugar as it was likely to be on the cleaners trolley. She then went on to tell me to hurry up and check out as she needed to leave on time. I told her she was being rude! and that her attitude drives customers away! It wasn't good for the business! To my surprise she goes "l know! you can go and book somewhere else next time" Honestly I was shocked to be told this! What happens to good customer handling skills, customer is always right! I hope this kind of rude treatment to customers gets addressed and stops. It doesn't give a good reputation at all.

We enjoyed our views from our hotel room. Not really quite what we were expecting. Could be more tidy, checked in at 2pm after cleaners had been into the apartment and cleaned, but apartment was quite un pleasant on arrival, basic things like cups were dirty and soap scum through-out the bathrooms.

Me and my mates booked this place well ahead of our trip thinking it looked great, just like the photos on their website lead you to believe! but fact of the matter is the apartments that are fully renovated and look decent enough to stay in for 2 weeks are the first 6 floors! Which would haft to be the ones photographed on their website. We got to the penthouses all excited n ready to live it up over the superGP weekend and so on. We stepped into our apartment. As soon as we were through the front door we realised it was nothing of the sort that was advertised on the website. Everything was dull, boring and old. Whilst we were staying we were unable to gain access to the pool. Instead being told to use the pool from the hotel next to us. Reason being, they were getting all the windows frames removed because they were all leaking apparently and being in the pool was a danger. It gets worse. We were woke up on countless ocassions by hammer drills from tradesman working at early hours of the morning and could not enter or leave through the main entrace due to the renovations to the window frames! The SuperGP/Indy is a massive event for the gold coast! If you had some sense you think you would do all this work and renovating at a quieter time in the year?. When we booked the apartment, we clearly stated how many of us there were and they still managed to stuff up the beds! Resulting with one of my mates having to spend 2 whole weeks on a fold out bed! what a joke!
