The rooms were so dirty… old… carpets need professional cleaning… oven you cant even read the numbers on it and it was dirty. Telephone broken was told to use my personal mobile to ring reception. TV also broke… everything needs updating and it needs a professional cleaner pronto… hair was in our bed plus on the carpets in balls from previous guests! Absolutely filthy! Location is amazing though so it's such as real shame the owners just don't care.
Won't be going back there.

Absolutely appalling! Discount rate is a load of rubbish as you would never, ever pay over $500 a night in the room we stayed in!
Within 3 seconds of walking in, my 2 year old opened the glass door in the kitchen area and was standing on the air conditioning unit right next to the balcony. It could’ve easily been a parents worst nightmare. We relatched the door and found there was no actual lock on it so had to put a clothes airer in front of the door and pull the blinds down so she didn’t do it again. Surely it breaks legal requirements for a property — which I will be looking in to further.
She also tripped on the uneven slate floor where the kitchen joins the dining area resulting in a dislocated elbow and a 4 hour hospital visit — not exactly the way you want to spend your day.
I would’ve informed reception had there been anyone there or someone answer the phone.
From start to finish of our weekend this was the worst place we have ever stayed in! We requested an early check in of between 12 and 1pm which was “noted”, however when we arrived at 1.30 we were told that we’d have to wait until 2pm to retrieve our key from the security box and she had no idea why we had an email to say otherwise.
The room was filthy, about 5 years worth of dust on the fire sprinklers in the “master suite” which we couldn’t locate the remote for the light and fan so didn’t have either the whole weekend. Spa didn’t work.

Fantastic friendly helpfull staff. Spotlessly clean. Fabulous pool gym bbq and sauna not to mention tennis and basketball court… perfect location right on the beach… tram stop 2 minutes away. Why would you want to be anywhere else.

Reception staff are super helpful and friendly. The apartments are spacious and lovely, with magnificent ocean views. Focus is located in a quiet part of Surfers Paradise with only a short walk into the busy shopping and nightlife. Beach is right there.

Possibly the best place we’ve ever stayed at on the GC. We stayed in a 3 Bedroom Superior apartment on the 3rd floor. It was spectacular. The view out to the beach was awesome and the actual apartment was beautiful. Incredibly clean and tidy with an updated kitchen and furniture. Diana at reception was a 10/10. She was so welcoming and so professional, considering how busy they were. We will be back that’s for sure!

Omg the 1st time I stayed at focous was so good clean room, beach side view it was perfect… that’s where it ends stayed there recently 4 5nights n room was a mess boogers on the wall, cigarette buts on the vahanda, no beachside view (even tho I requested it) there was someone’s underwear in room, expired chocolate in the fridge and the washing machine made the clothes go a yucky colour 2 and a lot more … I would never go back there was so disappointed bcos it wasn’t like the 1st time I went.

Had an amazing stay in a great priced very clean and neat 2 bedroom unit fully self contained. The view was just fantastic. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Waking up and going to sleep with the sound of the ocean is so relaxing. Beachfront morning walks, gym, pool, sauna, spa, kids pool. Close to cavill Ave. Light rail stop upright nearby. Easy access to Pacific fair. Or harbour town. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking the ocean lunch in one of the many food places in surfers which are well priced then the choice of dinner home or out. Thanks so much for a great stay. 5 stars from me.

We really loved the place, we where on level 19 in a lovely 2 bedroom apartment… the only downside was the main bedroom didn't have a push down lock on the patio door (all the other patio doors had them) thank god the local spiderman wasn't active while we where there…

Awesome place to stay, booked through AirBnB and was very happy with the apartment. Great view, easy access to surrounding activities and included all amenities needed.

Very safe The jacuzzi is good but the pool isn't always really clean.

Great place right on the beach front. Awesome view from the beachside apartments. Has got all the amenities you need. Only a short walk to transport or to the shopping and entertainment areas of surfers paradise.

We stayed here early May 2018 in a 2 bedroom apartment with 3 children. Apartment was great with fantastic views. Main bedroom had a king size bed plus ensuite. Plenty of cupboard space in both bedrooms so you don’t have to live out of a suitcase. Secure parking and secure access to complex for peace of mind. Balcony’s to both bedrooms and family area. Walk over the road straight to the beach. Only a short walk to the hustle and bustle of Cavill Avenue. We loved this apartment it was clean and had everything we needed including laundry. Will definitely recommend Focus Apartments to our friends. Very reasonably priced and lovely friendly staff.

Apartments have a good beach view (not all of them) but they are not very well maintained.

We stayed 2 nights & the apartment was more than we expected, clean, awesome view & the staff (Wendy) were so friendly, a very pleasant weekend away from home. Looking forward to staying here again & I would highly recommend them. Thank you Wendy for everything, husband loved his birthday weekend.

Worst apartment that I have stayed in. No air con. Reception staff were helpful, but don't leave your keys in the room as the after hours service is pathetic. Very old building. I would not stay there again.

Great location across the road from the beach and only a few blokes to centre of surfers paradise.

Nice apartments, close to the beach and shops (bit noisy early in the morning tram and cleaners). Pool, gym and bbq not connected to the building have to walk around a restaurant to access these facilities? Wi-Fi Internet speed and range is very poor.

Appartment was not clean proply Didn't get given anoth towels for a family But views from room was amazing Close to surface paradise and beach Bbq area is good lots of room And had basketball and tennis courts that we used.

Clean with all the amenities and the required space. Excellent view of the ocean and next to ocean. Has BBQ sauna and swimming pool. Good place to enjoy the evening on the pool side and BBQ.

Facing the sea view, the building can set foot on the fine white sandy beach across the street, where lifeguards are also stationed.
The walkway next to the beach has public fitness equipment and a picnic table, walking in the direction of the city center more barbecue equipment can be used.
A minute walk to Cypress Avenue, five minutes to the city centre Cavill Avenue, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, entertainment and famous attractions. The building is equipped with a swimming pool, sauna, barbecue area.
The elevator needs to use key sensing. Convenient transportation, good scenery.

Peaceful place, but their maintenance on their air conditioning unit are not up to scratch.

Had the most horrible experience, I was contacted by reception prior to arrival to confirm check in time, I mentioned then and also on the bookings page that we were coming with 2 infants. The 2 x 2 bedroom apartments given to me were on 2 different levels and had to go down to the lobby each time we wanted to go to the other room as the key fob for the lift would work for only 1 floor. This was only the start of it, they have advertised on the website as the apartments having air conditioning as part of the facilities. We were given a room on the 25th floor with no air conditioning and no fan, it was 30 degrees at night with my child being overheated at night and unable to sleep. There were no windows, only large sliding doors to the balcony which could not be left open as the one time we tried, the room was filled with moths and bugs. When I complained to the reception on the second day, I was conveniently told they were fully booked and they do not guarantee rooms with air conditioning. I had to borrow a stand fan from the reception to get some relief the second night. They falsely advertise and the staff is not helpful, definitely not recommend staying here unless you planned to go to the desert and landed up here instead. Basic necessities missing, fridge and kettle havent been updated since the 80s, poor Wi-Fi, not family friendly, I have stayed at better backpackers.

Spend 7 nights at the Focus in August and was beyond happy with our 3 bedroom apartment, the kids and I had a ball. Will definitely be coming for longer next year.

We stayed here for 5 nights in June and were very happy with the accomodation. We had a gorgeous beach view from every room in the apartment and loved that it was located within walking distance of restaurants and shopping at cavil avenue. Would stay again, and definitely recommend.

Very convenient for those who loves to sleep and wake up with the sound of the beach.

Recently renovated, and a fantastic location. Staff here are great too with plenty of facilities included onsite and nearby. Stay here!

We always stay at focus, the most beautiful place on earth. Everyone is so friendly, it's our home away from home. Can not wait to go back and let my family relax. Apartments we've stayed in … way to many to remember, never had a problem with other any of them. We get superior 3. See you all soon xx.

Just spent 10 nights at Focus with the family in a three bedroom apartment. Everyone had a great time. No complaints from us. Great value for money, handy to everything. All good.

Was just what we were looking for. A 3 bedroom, reasonably priced apartment that could accommodate my mobility-challenged elderly parents plus keep my 2 preteen daughters and husband occupied. Initially I was worried when I saw no aircon but I needed have worried. Opening the balcony doors in every room had beautiful cooling seabreezes day and night. Well laid out apartment with well stocked kitchen with appliances and cookware. Very conveniently located in surfers with beach views across the road. Guests Wouldn't need a car but thankful for secure underground carpark plus ample visitor parking too. Reception staff were so helpful. Nothing was a trouble for them. If you want the ritz this isn't your place but I'd go back. Thanks for the lovely family beach holiday Focus.

Very nice facilities with pool, BBQ area and gym. It has a great view and is located right next to the beach. Some apartments have AC, some not. Wi-Fi was pretty slow and limited to 500 MB of data per stay, unless you pay for more. However, they gave us some more for free.

I was very happy with my stay I had a 2 bedroom apartment it was fantastic and the staff are friendly and assisted us in every way I will be going back guarantee.

Do not book this accommodation. The building has concrete cancer and is in the midst of a mega-reno. There is no access to any facilities, you cannot even open your veranda door or window due to the building being washed down. Very disappointed by this — it should be illegal to rent rooms to families during school holidays when the gorgeous photos featured on the official website are a hoax. Horrible, dirty, there are so many better places to stay.

Our unit was poorly renovated. The owners had decided to block in the large balcony other units still retain. The bathroom door could not close, the taps in the bathroom came off the sink, and the overhead fan was so badly out of balance it was dangerous. I'm not sure if it was air-conditioned. Luckily we didn't need it this trip. Our interaction with the staff was pleasant, and they corrected an error for us after hours when house keeping forgot to leave us any towels. Friends staying with us reported that the reception staff over at least part of the weekend were very rude. "Do I look like reception to you? " … was the response from one girl standing behind the counter. On the other hand the location is excellent and the price very reasonable. The pricing was discounted due to works being performed on the building. I recommend that if you're going to stay here, ask detailed questions about the unit you're allocated before you accept it and don't put up with any crap from the front desk.

We spent 10 nights at Focus in January – it was great. The apartment was not the most modern but it was clean and had everything we needed. The location is amazing – loved Surfers Paradise beach and great that it is patrolled as we felt happy letting our teenage children go down by themselves. The grounds are also great – loved the pool and we had a few barbecues there too. Kids loved the tennis! A good tip we were given was to book theme park tickets at reception before you go – that way you miss the MASSIVE queues! Highly recommend it – we will go back.

My family and I spent a week here during the Christmas holidays — it was awesome! Apartment was big and spacious with great views of the ocean. We walked to the Mall each night and found somewhere to eat and wondered home along the beach front. The kids loved the swimming pool — we spent lots of time there because the weather was not great but the grounds are very protected! Not the most modern apartments but had everything we needed and were clean and comfortable! Highly recommended! Will be back! :-).

Great holiday! Enjoyed a fantastic weekend away with my boyfriend, the staff were all really friendly and the rooms were clean and furnished nicely. Love the gold coast and would certainly stay at the apartments again :).

Where to start? after booking on line our first holiday in 10 years we arrived at 4pm to be told our room wasnt ready! finally getting into our room at 6.30pm the kids were exhausted and wanted to take showers only to discover the hot water didnt work and the bathroom smelt like urine wanting to sit down to dinner the chairs at the table were broken, the kitchen utensils filthy and the fridge not cooling! on complaining the next morning the so called manger claimed therte wasnt anything wrong with our room! I requested that we be moved to another room not much different unfortunatly, I can list more crap about this place but cant say loud enough DONT STAY IF U DONT LIKE RATS, CAUSE EVERYTIME WE TRIED TO USE THE BBQ OR POOL THATS WHO WE SHARED THEM WITH. This place is filthy and managment are useless. Do not waste your money.

I prebooked direct with Focus over the web and recieved confirmation of two bedrooms, THREE beds. On arrival we were given a two bedroom with two beds. I explained we had two boys 15 and 12 who were not into sharing a bed. We were told they had nothing available and a roll away bed was provided. On entering the room the toilet in the ensuite was found almost full of excretement though nicely labeled on the seat as being hygenically cleaned. The clutlery and dishes were mostly caked with food. The dishwasher smelt like a dead rat was living in it. Micro wave did not work. Electric fry pan did not work. Two elements on stove did not work. We were not offered the air conditioner control as reception told us the owners preferred it was not used. The second night I had to call apartment security to close a party in the next apartment at midnight. The smoke drifting under our door was going to make us all high. Security was very prompt and very efficient. No opening windows and external sliding doors that did not secure. I have lived in apartments all around the world in my employment as a contract pilot and in some of the most poorest countries at that, but I have never stayed in something like this place. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere for a clean place.
