Perfect hotel, but definitely recommend the executive suites which include the lounge, the lounge was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful really made our trip.

Great central location, clean spacious rooms, nice Gin bar, the breakfast buffet is fabulous, I'll/we'll be back…

I’d give this hotel no stars if I could. Their staff attitude is very poor and the duty manager they had on was beyond anything I could ever imagine. He was absolutely as rude as anything and unhelpful Because of this hotel and staff I will no longer be staying at Hiltons or Hilton Partners. This was the worst experience I have ever come across.

Great check in experience with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Room is fine, quiet location overlooking the harbour. Hotel lobby bar is great! I’m certain that we will enjoy our time here.

Such a beautiful hotel, we had stunning water views from our room! The staff were so friendly and welcoming during our stay, it’s the little touches like the refill water bottle near the elevators that we also loved! Would definitely recommend for anyone staying in Cairns! Thanks so much for having us!

Just had 3 nights and had some good and bad experience. The good… service was excellent even with severe staff shortages. Especially young fellow in the Bar…. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff were very attentive and efficient. The bad…. She’s a tired building with lots of wear and tear. (Was told a revamp is due in January) Cocktail bar doesn’t open until 5.00pm. Would be nice to sit and have a refreshing drink after a day out in the heat. Behaviour of some guests left a lot to be desired…. Not wearing masks 😷 as required, singlets and hats (worn backwards) in restaurants. Drinking in the pool (glass) and leaving the glasses on the edge and just walking off. Looking forward to seeing the hotel after a freshen up.

We booked the water view delux room requested a higher floor in the notes on arrival I was being provided a room on Level 4 which is the 2nd floor overlooking a parking lot. We were then offered a room on the 7th floor supposed to be with water views but again it is overlooking the parking lot. I have to literally bend to look out to see the water. Air conditioner does not work in so don’t accept this room we are now here with 2 fans instead of the broken down AC with water dripping into the room. Don’t recommend rooms are dated and not the Hilton quality we are used to. We are Hilton Honors and Hilton Grand Vacation Elite members members. The staff member At Reception was condescending and not helpful at all.

This is another Hilton winner. The tourism industry took a big hit thus a shortage of staff but that hasn’t stopped Scott Wilson and his team offering great rooms with a view to die for for, scrumptious breakfast in the lobby, great coffee and a new concierge at hand to look after all your needs. My highlight, the magnificent views from our room balcony with a bottle of wine, not to mention the balcony views from the Executive lounge on level 9.

We had friends staying at Hilton Double Tree and the room were small and dirty. The place is completely run down and maintenance staff were rude.

Great location right next Casino, easy walk to brewery and along the waterfront to the Cairns lagoon, reef excursion marina and so many great restaurants. Super helpful and friendly staff in the breakfast restaurant (including staff trainees) and at the front desk. The hotel rooms were more than adequate with comfy beds and pillows even if slightly dated — nothing to complain about at all. I’ll be back as such courtesy, helpfulness and friendliness is hard to find in Australia. Special

My Mum and I had a weekend away there and it was amazing! The staff were beyond friendly and so helpful, breakfast was great and it was an overall great experience. Cant fault the awesome staff/service we received. We will be back.

I like being able to choose my room for the Hilton honor's app. Made real easy. Rooms are always great. Love the spa rooms where you can close the glass and it turns into a sauna.

The Hilton Cairns is in a great location and close to most restaurants and shops. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The optional breakfast is outstanding and has just about anything you can think of for breakfast.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Hotel Cairns for a week for work and was delighted by the friendly and attentive staff, always greeting with a smile. Although the hotel is older the rooms have been updated and are clean and fresh. I did not have an opportunity to interact with housekeeping staff, however my room and supplies were always well stocked. The valet car service at an extra $5.00 per day was well worth it and all reception and concierge staff were more than happy to obtain my vehicle, sometimes multiple times, day or night. The breakfast restaraunt was well presented, and professionally run. Mondo restaraunt at night was a very nice surprise again. I look forward to my next visit in February. Thank you Hilton for an exceptional stay.

Only arrived a couple of hours ago but really impressed with the service (with a smile), the room (with an amazing view) and the quality of products.

Our first stay at the Hilton was a lovely experience. Staff are such a pleasure to deal with. Breakfast buffet had so many options and catered for a diverse array of dietary needs.

Really not what you would expect from a Hilton, dated rooms, carpets unclean, noisy aircon, only 2 of 3 lifts working resulting in huge wait times. Really unimpressed.

The pool is not very big but we preferred to go to the sea.

The location was amazing, everything very close by. The service was also decent. Staff were friendly. However, the hotel was quite dated which we did not mind; but the room was very dated as well. The carpet was old and rough.

We had a drink in the foyer bar, great! Then dinner in the Italian restaurant, ordered a shared entree, and mains with side dishes. Had to remind waiter to bring side dish, it came after we had finished our main meal. Had a good night.

I had fabulous five night stay at Cairns Hilton! Great room, clean, service staff was very good & helpful. Valet service was just too easy — thanks guys. Paul leads an awesome team here — highly recommend Cairns Hilton as a convenient base to restaurants down the waterfront, city and indeed to the surroundings. I'll be back, hopefully soon!

Staff are attentive and down to earth, we felt relaxed the 3 days we were here with our 18month old. Ann in the Executive Lounge was lovely and accommodated our needs regarding allergies and high chair. The food offering in the Lounge was excellent for our needs also (seeds/nuts/non dairy alternatives/muesli etc). Lost a star because decor of the room needs a serious update and the nearby Palm Casino is really noisy in the evenings. Clean and very comfortable room otherwise, pillows were very comfortable, much better than the soft — zero — support offering you get with IHG hotels.

Stayed for 3 nights in a King Room (waterfront). As far as Hilton hotels are concerned, I wouldn't say this is the best of the bunch, however it is in a fantastic location, relatively inexpensive, and is clean. The main downfall would definitely be the noise isolation… could hear garbage disposal, banging/crashing of bottles, people talking in neighbouring rooms amongst other things, all at 6am in the morning isn't exactly pleasant. Staff at the front desk were nice, but provided little conversation or information about our stay. Didn't book a room with breakfast included, so can't provide comment on that, but the main lobby is very nice with a bar during the evening and a coffee station in the morning. All-in-all, an average hotel in the tropical city of Cairns.

This hotel is located on the marina and has water views. The staff is friendly and attentive. Breakfast requires a voucher, which you will receive upon check in. The rooms are spacious and standard hotel furniture. Overall, this hotel is good for a longer stay.

I had a business breakfast at the Hilton and it was superb. The food was well presented and delicious. The venue itself was neat, tidy and professional.

We stayed at the Hilton Cairns for our wedding anniversary, it was fantastic! The staff were so helpful & friendly! We got an upgrade to the executive floor with drinks & canapés & breakfast all was fantastic! The views from our room were beautiful & the bottle of wine for our special occasion was a great touch! We were the guests of the day which was a nice surprise & totally unexpected! Thank u cairns hilton for such a memorable experience. We will be back to stay next time we are in Cairns!

I debated between the Doubletree and the Hilton (what can I say, I’m a brand girl), and after talking with one of the people who switched hotels to the Hilton in the Executive lounge I’m super glad I went with the Hilton. Sitting in the Executive Lounge for the nightly reception with a glass of wine, watching the sunset over the mountains and the bats flying right along the baloney is a memory I’m going to cherish! The location was perfect. A short walk to the reef terminal, a short walk to anything in the city center, amazing waterfront views. I was upgraded to a spa room with a harbor view – which was amazing after a long day of swimming on the reef. The beds were comfortable, easy to sleep in! The bathrooms were huge. The room overall was a bit dated, but still a very nice place to stay in. Breakfast was great – either downstairs or in the lounge if you have access. I tried both – the lounge was more cold food and hard boiled eggs, while downstairs had hot buffet foods. They have a desk dedicated to booking excursions and the lady working it knows her stuff! She talked to me about my interests and steered me away from one of the more tourists trips to a small group trip that fit my interest in hiking and exploring much better. Plus she helped me book with a reef diving trip that had things like prescription snorkel glass rental! It was that level of service that really made the trip.

We stayed at the Hilton Cairns last night for our wedding anniversary and it was exceptional. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the champagne, chocolates and towel wedding cake in our room were very much appreciated. The view of Trinity inlet was amazing and the room was lovely. We loved the canapes and drinks in the executive lounge and the delicious breakfast this morning. We are locals and we will be back!

The nights we stayed here it was great and we had the chance to see the most wonderful lightning show it was amazing with our views on the corner we witnessed it and it was so spectacular I couldn't believe it as it made my holiday so worth it.

Overall good experience. Buffet breakfast is not the best and importantly coffee and tea are not included… Good location, close to shops and the nearby lagoon as well as the esplanade. Rooms are spacious with sun drenched balconies and inviting beds. Would recommend although bit over priced.

Second stay at this hotel in about 2 weeks… stayed on the executive floor… room very clean… missing some furniture in the room and in house entertainment not functioning… not the end of the world but after a 27 hr international flight. That was all I wanted… the finer details need some attention at this establishment… all the staff as always with hilton are exceptional in their attitude and hospitality. There is always a welcoming smile and a friendly greeting and nothing is ever too much trouble. Special thanks to the knowledgeable guys at Gin Social in the lobby… excellent attention to detail and all round service.

We stayed at the Hilton Cairns for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our first room had some issues but when we went to the front desk they immediately fixed the situation and put us up in another room with some added extras. The staff were all so friendly and quick to offer a smile and a hello. The rooms are a little worn but nothing to make it uncomfortable or unwelcoming. The pool area was excellent with a beautiful refreshing pool and relaxing spa, the lush landscaped gardens around almost make you forget you're in the city. I loved the design of the hotel, the tall lush gardens in the middle of the building is a beautiful touch. We were there in the wet season when humidity is extremely high, the A/C could barely keep up and the rooms had a slight damp scent that I suspect is because of the season, however that being said tile instead of carpet in the rooms and an upgraded air system would make a good difference on that front. Overall very impressed and would stay here again in a heartbeat when back in Cairns.

The room is clean, the toilet spare parts is the Rose Berti, the member pays the breakfast is continental breakfast, if wants to eat the hot food (scrambled egg, the potato cake and so on) to increase the price, the impression everybody 5~10 yuan, also not expensive just.

Stayed one night 02/12/2018 to catch a flight. What a disappointment. My wife and I had a Suite could have been the Presidential Room 930. The televisions did not work correctly and even after a call to the front desk I still cannot figure out how to work the shower. The hotel is worn and showing it's age. For the money spent, I expected much better.

Good stay! Everything you'd expect from a Hilton. I'd recommend skipping the buffet breakfast and going for a walk to a local cafe for more interesting food. Great pool and amenities as well. Had to kill two huge cockroaches but I think it's expected for summer in FNQ so no big deal.

Staying in executive room provides free continental breakfast in the executive lounge, cold cut, cereal, bread, fresh and dried fruit, juice, and coffee/tea. Good enough to fill up your stomach. Some rooms are facing the water front. My room is OK with a balcony.

Nice hotel. Rooms are a little dated but the rest of the property looks modern. It is very well located right by the pier where there are a variety of boats heading out to islands and the reef. If you have access to the executive lounge, the staff were very friendly and breakfast and evening his d'oeuvres were good. Nice views also.

Executive rooms were nothing special; just the same as every other room in the hotel. Still nice. Concierge staff were wonderful and very helpful. Executive lounge staff were extremely rude and the service left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't recommend paying for anything executive, as you definitely do not get your money's worth and are not treated any better.

I had a bad experience as Diamond member paying top point dollars to stay here. No upgrades available as they were all given to passengers who had a canceled flight. The pool is unattended with no staff at all, and cold water. The rooms are musty with old carpeting. No shampoo or soap replaced by housekeeping. I would never stay at this Hiton again and it tarnishes the Hilton name. Take care of your Diamond members. I was not 100% satisfied, I told the manager, and there was no offer of a free night for my troubles.

Very nice property right by the water and the wharf. The property itself is nice enough, but the real value is the proximity to the other attractions. You are within walking distance of a dozen restaurants as well as the Reef Casino. The area is a really nice retreat when you have finished your eco related activities that brought you to Cairns.

Nice room and nice view but the hotel is very boring. The lobby bar is closed because it's so dead. Location is near the cruise port and within 5 min walk from all the shops. It is right next to the casino if you want some action. We stayed at a Holiday Inn prior on our 3 weeks holiday and seems like Hilton does not live up to its name. At check out, I had to present my credit card again. No option for express check out even the app says check in online and check out online. The front desk lady said my visa was declined but there has been an authorization already on our card for $1000 and our stay was only $792. She then tried again and asked me for the pin (no wonder didnt work the first time right? ) I logged in my account and now my card is authorized for $1000 and charged $808 (including the credit card surcharge). This is terrible practice as it could effect some travellers available funds.

Dissapointed with the room we were given this time. Great location but as return guests thought we would at least get a view of the esplanade. Instead we had a view of ugly old buildings. Will go elsewhere next time as we come to cairns regularly.

Whist the view was lovely and the location was fantastic, that is probably all this place had going for it. The room we had on the 8th floor was a king spa suite. The spa only fits in one person, so straight up my partner and I were disappointed. The room was tired and worn looking and not what you would expect at a Hilton hotel. We asked for our room to be serviced and the toilet cleaned. They did not clean the toilet. They took our bath mat, hand towels and face washers and forgot to give us replacements. They left us with dirty towels. The PowerPoint casing fell off when I tried to plug the iron in (pretty dodgy) and there was a cockroach! I had a word to the man at reception and admittedly he was great about everything. They did send us an apology note with wine and chocolates. But it seems that's just the standard response to everyone when they complain. I think this place is only surviving on its reputation as a Hilton hotel and because of the views. They really need to step up their game as they really aren't up to standard. Will give the Hilton Cairns a miss next time and book somewhere else. Disappointing to say the least.

Great views if you get an ocean view room. Despite the prestigious name tho I have to admit I have stayed in far more comfortable three star hotels. Room was dated and in need of maintenance or just straight up upgrade. Call me a snob but if I'm staying in a 5 star hotel I expect a little bit more than single ply budget toilet paper and cheap paper coasters. The staff were delightful and very hospitable so no complaint there. The king size bed appears to be a comfortable sleep but I was up at 0500 because it really wasn't. The European pillows were so soft it was not really worth using them. (I know that sounds Ludacris but they literally melted and went totally flat). Great views in our room, lovely staff and clean facilities.

I have stayed quite a few times at the hilton and have had alot better service in ther past. It really needs a makeover looking very tired in the rooms. Movie channel wouldnt work had to get technician to fix this. No extra pillows or towels no mini bar? Ordered an expensive in room dinner and was delicious but had to sit and eat off the floor and off a seat while sitting on the bed. Had to contact the service desk and inform them of this. I asked if we could have one of the tables the food came on? They really werent happy in doing this untill I had to push, I was very dissspointed in this stay. I would Always get excited about staying at the hotel but will take my business elsewhere in future. Sad.

The conference rooms at the Hilton Cairns are well equipped to cater for any type of business function, with suitably sized rooms available for any function. The staff and also very courteous and helpful.

Rooms nice but a bit dated. Exec lounge not as good as other hotels visited in Australia. Nice location right next to GBR ferries.

The location of the hotel is wonderful. The rooms in the hotel were very nice but the Wi-Fi is not free in your room unless you are a Hilton member. It is not very reliable. As a Hilton member I never did get it to connect for more than a few minutes in my room. I called for help but the IT did not call back. After an hour I left because I was there to vacation not be tied to my room. The air conditioning in the lobby and the restaurant was virtually nonexistent. They gave us vouchers for drinks, when we went to redeem them the only bar that you were allowed to redeem them at was closed. We were bounced from one restaurant to another. When we complained to the manager, he did send up chocolates and a bottle of wine but we really did not feel we were taken seriously.

Foods alright. Building and facilities are also pretty nice and clean can't speak much about staying there though.

Little bit of trouble with the in-house movies on demand, but staff worked hard to try and rectify it, and voided charges when it couldn't be resolved. Room was tidy and clean, room Service was efficient and with the ever friendly staff… We would definitely stay again. The kind of night we expected to have at a place bearing the Hilton name.

Very clean on the inside and I was treated very well. The outside of the hotel needs a new paint job to modernize it, but the inside looks moden enough. Breakfast was really good to, with lots of variety.

We found the location of the Hilton absolutely ideal, right on the boardwalk which allowed for a relaxing stroll to the fantastic restaurants along the way. It was also only a couple of meters to the marina from which many cruises depart for the Great Barrier Reef, which can happen very early in the morning, so you didn't have to rush to get up early. The views of the Trinity Inlet from our balcony were fantastic with very impressive sunrises too. The room was roomy and air-conditioned, and the bathroom had a big internal window so you could use the bathtub and still see the room. We mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary and received a complimentary bottle of wine by the hotel which was a very nice touch.

Nothing much … NO Free Wi-Fi. Although Advertised … Ridiculous Bus Ctre with PC dating 50 yes ago! Is this a Hilton property?

Nov 2014 Terrible for a top rated hotel, Arrived at 10am, nowhere to have a coffee. Room was OK good views 3rd floor, Staff were helpful and pleasant, pool was beautiful, that was about where the good ended. No bar until 1230 room service only, even the water machine was hot and broken and not replaced. Everything now seems to cater for asians only, breakfast had tasteless peaches, pears apricots and pawpaw as if frozen and rethawed, fresh fruits were fine, scrambled eggs tasted as if powdered, poached were swimming in vinegar water and hard, fried were rubber, only improved slightly in last two days. Bacon was overcooked at low temp, Plenty of asian noodles rice etc etc, No white bread, all fancy loaves with one of those bad toasters which either burns or produces hot bread. Not a pleasant breakfast. Housekeeping forgot our bathmat (necessary as only a halfglass over bath with overhead shower) our friends towels disappeared completely. Mondos restaurant was painful too, asian food was good, rib fillet was tasteless, obviously frozen, quick thawed and then grilled sent it back and settled for ice cream. The menu was obviously asian oriented, not aimed at Aust or caucasian tastes. Changed to baby barramundi next night, so filled with lemon could not taste barra at all. No minibar in room or even water in fridge. They cocked up the Wi-Fi twice and it was turned of at cockcrow the morning of departure, although checkout was not till eleven, glad I was not on urgent business.

Mondos always delivers in terms of location, quality of food and usually service. Restaurant manager G. Romain should perhaps update his people skills, if he needs a mentor, just emulate Nikky who truly understands the concept of customer service.

We didn't stay here, but came to see the magician show with the dinner package. The dinner was quite nice — a choice of 6 very different meals from around the world, plus starters and dessert — so yummy. It was served in the cafe rather than the restaurant, which was a bit of a sly trick of marketing by Hilton, but at least the venue, staff, and food were wonderful. The magician show was intimate — only a small group of people made it seem quite interesting. The show was ok — the magician did a few tricks that were impressive, but some were quite obvious and not performed optimally. Overall the show was just ok, maybe a few more tricks might have made it a little better.
