We stayed here for 10 days booking the sea view room was the best decision great views, the breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety to choose from, very friendly and helpful staff. The pool area was spacious and towels supplied. The vines is a must great selection of cocktails. Easy walking distance to the shopping centre and the Broadwalk with plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from.

Our room was left open after the housekeeping cleaned it, breakfast has been so disappointing, today no butter or margarine to spread on toast no eggs of any description and bacon was cold, coffee machine was empty so had to use sachets and the bar service is so slow received a drink that wasn’t what I ordered so disappointed.

The hotel staff were fantastic, smooth check in, always helpful. I absolutely loved the welcome cookie. Definitely recommend, Loved our stay. ✨️✨️✨️✨️

Stayed for a week for my hubby's 60th birthday. Stunning view from our room. Spacious room, good amenities, clean and luscious towels. Brekkie for a good aray of foods to suit all tastes. Resort was everything we needed. Great pool, fabulous position being able to walk everywhere. Beautiful gesture of champagne, chocs, cakes, strawbs and grapes was placed in our room upon arriving back on hubbies birthday, blown away so delicious. The extra touches made our stay special. Definitely recommend and we will return with the extended family. Loved our stay. ✨️✨️✨️✨️

The staff were extremely helpful and I could fault the service. Our suite was overlooking the ocean and the one thing I’ll say for Hilton is they always have the most comfortable beds and pillows. There is a very nice atrium with rain forest theme which is very nice.

Great location. Close to restaurants, 15 min walk to the marina and 15min walk to Cairns Central Mall. Staff friendly and room serviced everyday.

Lovely hotel in a great location on the Esplanade. Everything is within walking distance. We booked the suite on the top floor. Huge balcony, great sea views, 55 plus sqm and a large spa bath. Friendly staff and great service. Very happy.

After requesting and paying for a room with an ocean view we were made to believe how our room was in fact one of the best. Upon arrival and being told early check in was not an option was only one of the few disappointing things to of occurred. After only 5 hours of being in our room the air conditioning wouldn’t work. Around 9pm we were to move rooms 3 levels lower with absolutely no help offered and several trips made up and down to collect all our belongings. The air conditioner worked in this room but now we’re without a view like we had paid for. The toilet wouldn’t flush without multiple times pressing down the button. And unfortunately we hired a car.
The Main Street was under going road works which left us with no where to park and the hotel wanting extra $$$ for unground parking. Beds were not comfortable at all and to top it off the customer service was terrible. One lady down at reception was absolutely beautiful had lovely manners and was always willing to help it’s a pity I can’t say the same for one of her Duty managers who was not very polite at all. Before booking with the Hilton I took time to read all reviews upon my arrival/departure the whole 6 day’s spent was very disappointing and a let down for a accomodation and the holiday not enjoyable.

We had the pleasure of staying 8 nights at this fabulous hotel.
From the moment we entered the foyer and were greeted by the concierge and a very warm welcome from the front desk as we were checking in.
We were given a choice of room types even though I had booked and prepaid online.
The concierge gladly escorted us to both room types explaining the hotel facilities as we went.
We chose our room overlooking the hotel pool and ocean a beautiful view.
We have utilised the bar the Vine Room great food and beverage choices and great atmosphere with live entertainment on the weekends.
I highly recommend this hotel I’m sure based on our visit and my years in hospitality you won’t be disappointed.
I can’t wait to return

It is a solid property. Nothing to special here. The pool was fine considering the ocean is so close and really why I was there. The restaurants were adequate. The lobby and main floor situation is a bit weird. Same with the elevator set up. But overall if ur just planning on being out on the water anyways you can't go wrong for the price.

Arrival service was spot on, baggage to room plus a warm cooky, nice. Rooms are roomy and pleasant to be in. Services are good. Breakfast food is very high quality with good selection. Pool acceptable if on the small side. Read bar is good but not always open! overall recommended.

Disappointed. Diamond member with king room reservation, 2 months in advance. Received double and not moved during stay. Room also had multiple issues, TV failed, light failed, bathroom door was locked by housekeeping, asked for additional towels, not received until 2nd request, and elevator had issues closing door either too quickly or you waited minutes for it to close.

Internet very very slow despite paying for premium speed for work. Donna in reception does not want to be there and makes it quite obvious. If you ask for something it is too much effort. Finally a small room with two small double beds no room to work. Would not recommend this hotel when there are so many better optin available.

I'm not a huge fan of big corporate hotels but as a stop over before or after a flight I don't think the Double Tree can be faulted. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming and didn't make a fuss about us parking our campervan out front for a few minutes while we unloaded and took our things to our room which a very obliging porter helped us with. The room was clean and comfortable and despite us being told all the ocean facing rooms were booked, we were delighted to find our room was on the side of the hotel and so did have a partial view of the promenade and the coral sea. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food.

This was a very comfortable stay that was (naturally) not as luxurious as the Hilton given DoubleTree's reputation, however this hotel provided us with all the necessary facilities to ensure a great stay in Cairns. The location is excellent — walking distance to the esplanade, night markets and Cairns Central. I would like to commend the hotel staff for promptly addressing any concerns we had regarding the room.

The location is great: on the Esplanade at the edge of the city, very close to the aquarium. I attended an event here, it was a good venue. Staff and facilities were of a high standard and I thought the catering was excellent. On street parking was hard to find, and internet access/speed wasn't great, but overall I would recommend this venue.

Excellent location Close to main shopping centre, restaurants and bars. Ocean view rooms have great view of ocean and mountain. Pool is small yet nice and relaxing, kids pool was great for my 3 yr old. All staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is good. We had booked a deluxe room. We had a balcony however the air conditioning is very noisy. It's a pity you don't have Wi-Fi. It would have been expected for a house of this class. The wine bar is recommended. The wines are very good and priced OK. The room has a small fridge. Mini bar is not filled. There is a Nespresso machine in the room. Every day you get 2 coffee capsules.

Great location for visiting Carins. A short walk to the reef terminal and most restaurants. The water view rooms are an added bonus that is worth it!

Clean rooms with great views. Although this place would have hit the "modern" label a few years back, the architecture still holds its own allure. Great guest laundry, coffee and tea in room, and very good staff.

Convenient location to the sea and to explore the city. Quiet and adequate room size. Breakfast OK.

Another beautiful place along our Australia vacation back in December, 2017. You can see by the map on the airplane, the Qantas Airbus 380 we took from Phoenix Arizona to Sydney Australia. From Sydney we threw we flew to can Cai RNs, from there back to Sydney I believe, then Phillip Island, the penguin, the hector dolphins, it was a great 14 days in Australia. The Great Ocean Road was an amazing day of Adventure! Enjoy the pictures there there's just breathtaking!

If you want a really relaxed time in Cairns I would recommend the Doubletree. It has lots of amenities (restaurant, bar, gym, pool, laundry), the staff is very polite and helpful and everything is very clean and simple. Nothing to complain about, would definitely come here again.

In a great location and clean. Don't get the breakfast as there is plenty of breakfast places in walking distance and not worth $25. They provide towels if you doing the great barrier reef.

I’ve stayed at the Cairns DoubleTree twice for a few nights when I was first moving to Cairns. The staff are helpful, the rooms are simple, but nice. The rooms lack USB chargers, but the front desk staff were able to loan me a power converter from their collection of left-behinds. If you’re looking for a nice central location to stay for a day or two while passing through, or in town for business, you won’t go wrong at the DoubleTree. If you’re looking for a tropical vacation, I’d suggest looking somewhere out of town.

I had a really rough experience at the DoubleTree in Cairns last night, so much so that I found alternate accommodations as soon as possible (I would have checked out the same day if I could have) at the other Hilton property in Cairns. Once I checked in to the DoubleTree I was given keys to a room that was already occupied so I was given another room. That room had large bugs in the bathroom and on the carpet so I was moved again. I woke up with bug bites all over my legs from the third room (which also had long black hairs in the shower-I’m a blonde). The staff tried to make up for the issues but seemed annoyed with me and acted like I was being demanding because I didn’t want to sleep with bugs in my room. This experience made me want to head home. I recognize the climate here lends itself to critters but I’m not keen to share a bed with them. I would never stay at this property again.

The second Hilton hotel in Cairns located on the esplanade. Excellent rooms some with balconies with water views. Nice restaurant and bar.

Only hotel to have und generator during power outage.

Good position on the esplanade, the room is quite nice. Some minor detractors are that the AC had a whirring noise on medium or high setting and the toilet was running but luckily I couldn't hear that over the noisy AC. Staff are friendly and they put a microwave in the room when I asked for one. There's a coin laundry on floors 3 and 5 which is nice when you're in a hotel room without a washer and dryer. You get a free cookie on arrival. Can't complain.

Rooms are a little small but nice to stay. Meals are pretty good. Good service.

Good Hotel although below typical Hilton standards. Rooms are relatively large but bathrooms quite small. Breakfast buffet is very good with good quality and range. Wi-Fi coverage seemed good and was fast. Location is good with short walk to main restaurant and tourist area. The air conditioner fan automatically drops to low when the door is opened meaning that the room gets quite hot while away which is a bit annoying for a higher priced hotel. Air con also seems to stop working at some times meaning humidity and temp does increase overnight which was somewhat uncomfortable and for this reason I would not recommend staying at this hotel during summer. I did receive a room upgrade and free breakfast based on Hilton Honors membership which was good. The Hilton is sometimes cheaper and so would suggest staying there rather than Doubletree.

We had a great time here! Great location to everything, very friendly staff and concierge! While the rooms were a bit on the small side and the bathrooms tiny, we still enjoyed our room overlooking the pool and ocean! There is onsite Landry mats that were great as well. The atrium breakfast was a bit blah and the water tasted a little funky. The pool was great however wasn't sure how to get a pool towels, didn't see a sign or a stand with them. Might need to ask reception! Overall great spot!

As a Hilton Gold Honors member, I was able to select room 715 which has a great side ocean view from the top floor. I also received complimentary breakfast buffet and they had a small drinks and apps reception at the bar for honors preferred members while I was there. The room itself was spacious and clean. The bathroom was a little cramped and the sink sticks out far from the countertop. It was clean and the water temperature was good. Other than breakfast, I did not dine at the hotel. The location is about 10 minute walk to the main strip of eateries and stores by downtown Cairns. Overall, it's a good Double tree level hotel.

Staff has been very nice and accomidating. The internet wasn't working well, but they put a booster in the room that fixed the problem. Bathroom is quite small but otherwise no complaints.

This is the perfect place to stay in Cairns. The staff are friendly, accommodating and professional. My big thank you Lyndsy for helping us to find the best Reef Cruise. She was super king and helpful and also Vaclav from the Bar staff was super super amazing, such a good and professional customer service. I am highly recommend to all my friends to stay at this Double Tree By Hilton Hotel. I definitely will be back. Thanks a lot.

Clean and tidy room with fantastic views of the bay and surrounding mountains. The staff were always helpful and let us know our room was available straight away despite arriving 3 hours before check-in. Great location only a short walk from the main eateries and bars.

Great location, only a couple minutes walk to the esplanade and walking distance to reef tour meet points. Comfortable beds and facilities. A/C is a bit noisy. Hilton Honors members get a warm cookie and free bottles of water at check-in. Shower only has a half pane of glass so looks like baths are encouraged.

It was a great experience to stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns. Complimentary cookies was awesome. All staff was very helpful and friendly. A really good view from our room with balcony perfect backdrop for the Cairns Festival parade and fireworks! Service is fantastic, hotel amenities are good. The pool and spa have shade available. The rooms are good apart from the bathrooms are quite pokey and small. Location is almost perfect. Walking distance withing 1-2km of everything you could need.

The hotel is relatively modern for the area. The rooms are well appointed and the staff friendly. Only downside is the bathrooms are a little pokey, good fixings just dated in layout and sizing. The hotel is walking distance from everywhere; restaurants, your meeting points, the lagoon (public swimming precinct) and shopping centre. Air con works well.

Was there for a conference. The venue was clean, simple and the Wi-Fi worked (once we were told what it was). The food was reasonable, but not fantastic — cheese and ham croissants, scrolls and chips… Still enjoyable and filling.

Presenting in the conference space was a delight, the staff were helpful and attentive to my needs, and it was a pleasure to speak there. The audience seemed to enjoy the space also. A great venue to host a professional event.

The view that we had was great! The location is a little on the edge of all the action. The hotel itself has great amenities with a tropical garden and pond right in the middle of it. Our room was a little finicky with the AC, but once the hotel staff explained it to us, we were good. (it was contingent on all the doors being shut, so the balcony doors had to be shut when we were out there)

Lovely hotel. Location is superb. Easy walking distance to shopping, beach, and the reef ferry terminal for touring the Great Barrier Reef. The beds are comfortable and the room is clean and spacious. They let me store my luggage until check in without any issue. And they give you a warm chocolate chip cookie on check-in, which is such a small thing but always makes me smile. They have a beautiful little "rainforest" in the courtyard that's very pleasant to spend time in relaxing, too!

Located right near the shore (walkable distance to many places). The rooms you could tell were a bit older but with new furniture and some remodeling to hide the age a bit. The water pressure in shower was weak, not sure if its all rooms or just ours. The front desk folks were nice and gave us complimentary champagne for our honeymoon (no room upgrades because it was same weekend as the ironman. ) Overall not a bad hotel.

Thank you for such a wonderful meal tonight in Atrium, I was not staying at the hotel but decided to walk in and glad I did, you new menu was is very nice, I was instantly taken with the "butchers board " meal and it was presented and tasted excellent, would highly recommend, I followed by the walnut and brownie desert must say a huge thank you to Joy & Tiffany who served me tonight, they were both very professional and was a treat to have such wonderful attentive staff, please look after them, they are an asset to your hotel again thank you.

In the center of Cairns… hotel clean and comfortable… but maybe because of the Hilton chain I expected a lot more, starting from the courtesy of the staff at the reception…

Floor 6 had insects that bit me and the bites became very itchy. I went to bed with no bites (I hadn't travelled anywhere where I would be subject to bites during the day) and I woke up with about 20. We contacted reception and had the manager sent up to investigate and move us to another room on the same floor. Within about 10 minutes of being in our new room on the same floor I found 10 more bugs. We were then moved to another floor. The hotel has yet to acknowledge the fact that these bites occurred within the room. They claimed they were flying ants that would not bite however these insects did bite and did not fly.

Horrible service, AC doesn't work well. Front desk didn't include my rewards number and tried charging me for beer I never drank. Will not be staying here again when I return.

Great hotel and hospitality. The receptionist was very cordial and welcoming. Everything was clean and the outdoor pool is enjoyable. The hot tub comes with bubbles too!

I had an event organised here and overall I was pleased with both the accommodation and event services. The best part about working with the DoubleTree is the event management staff who went the extra miles to liaise with third-party service providers (e. G. Airport pick-up, AV) and to ensure a smooth sequence of events. The meeting rooms are small but well laid out and can be walled off or opened to meet the event requirements. The hotel room is of decent size and a view over town, though it understandably lacks the luxurious look and feel of the sister hotel Hilton. Mine also came with a bathtub. Internet connection was unfortunately not their strong suit which may be a problem for guests from overseas. Location-wise the hotel is a little off centre, about 15 minutes walk along the esplanade to the lagoon area, which may be preferred by some. Within the hotel there is a fair selection of food and entertainment available. The room fee is inclusive of buffet breakfast at the restaurant, which also offers some decent meals and drink options throughout the day. For things to do you can try feeding the giant barramundi in the hotel pond at certain times of the day (I recommend it). The pool is closed off away from the busier areas, which is ideal for a relaxing time with a good read. Overall, good services and offerings for the current star rating and room rates. Communication between shifts and teams could be improved but it may just be my experience.

Great hotel right on the Esplanade. The room was large with a great bed and the buffet breakfast was very good. I knocked a start off just because I think there are a few things which can be improved: the gym is pretty basic and the Wi-Fi (available in public areas only) is incredibly slow.

Very good hotel, clean and comfy room. The staff is amazingly nice. I did not put 5 stars because the breakfast could have been better.

Apart from hotel experience, they fail to capture the proper customer service. Staff knowledge on a package deal was zero. — They let me wait during check out period as could not figure it out how to deal with package payment. They said the charge has been removed but it was charged to my credit card as I found out later. Not a surprise. So as I worried over payment has gone through my credit card — called in 3 times over 2 weeks (10 working days). (Which should not have happened at first place) No follow up in professional manner and ask me to wait and they will call me back. Where is proper customer response? Expedia's Indian based service is better than this. Just a Holiday Inn Hotel using Hilton name tag.

I cannot fault this hotel. Lovely helpful reception at any time of the day. The bar staff — excellent — again different staff different shifts. Room — great. Clean, comfortable, great pool. Great location — just a stroll to the shops and restaurants. My second stay and I would definitely return again.

Consistent experience with other Double Tree hotels. Bathroom could have had less stains. Tour agent at hotel organized the last two tickets for a snorkel trip to the great barrier reef the next day which exceeded expectations which was nice.

We went there a few weeks ago. They upgraded our room to ocean view and it was fantastic. Service was great. The hotel was in a good location. Will go back there again. It's good value for money.

Overall Good Experience, the room is clean and spacious with good ocean view, the staff is helpful, the furnitures are new and got free Wi-Fi as joining the free membership, the pool and spa downstairs is in good condition as well. The location is good. The only downside is the bathroom is a bit too small.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn in July 2013. I was in town for business and was staying with friends during my visit, however I got a cold and decided to pay for a hotel to get a good night sleep. Unfortunately I got much less sleep at the hotel, and the overall experience was not good. I am an IHG member, however upon check in (booked the room over the counter) wasn't given the opportunity to advise of this, as soon as I said I wanted a room the lady walked away to the computer and booked everything (very efficient I guess). There were 4-5 long black hairs stuck to the towels in the bathroom. At about 6am the fire alarm went off, which defeated the purpose of my stay in the hotel — to get a good night sleep before my conference which didn't start until 10am. The alarm was shut off after a short period, but what followed was a series of announcements at 20 minute intervals advising that the hotel was looking into the event, and then finally advising that it was a false alarm. The announcements were more annoying than the alarm itself. Upon checkout I was going to advise the hotel that the towels were dirty, and also advise that I was not given the opportunity to book in as an IHG member at check in, however when I handed my swipe key back was not asked how my stay at the hotel was. To provide a fair review, overall the room was quite spacious, the rate was reasonable and had the towels not been dirty the general cleanliness of the room was good.
