Arrived early around 12.30 after a long drive and was told go away and come back at 2pm great customer service. Stayed for 2 nights staff not friendly and breakfast what can we say, waited 10 min for someone to come to the desk, rude food all cold no water in the coffee machine.
You would think such a big company would care when tried to provide feedback was told yeh will send an email.
our room was 305 stayed Saturday and Sunday night.
Would have been better off staying in caravan park. What a shame.

Fantastic place to stay even has facilities to cook in your own room. I like that. Fussy what I eat.

Stayed for two days at this place and found it to be very pleasant in everyway. Just about an hour and 40 mins drive from Sydney and very close to Kiama. The room I stayed it was very spacious and tastefully done. It had almost all that one would desire for a short stay. The resort itself is self sufficient in terms of facilities. The Bella Char restaurant served us with top quality dishes and the staff was very warm and friendly. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Stayed at the Mercure for a weekend getaway. Unfortunately our stay was a big disappointment. Restaurant looked nice and we were encouraged to book in early as it ‘books out quickly’. Booked in for 7pm which was the earliest we could do. Were seated by the waitress (in a near empty restaurant) who immediately proceeded to tell us all of the menu options *not* available. Prawns not available, chicken not available, gem fish and salmon not available. Hmm that rules out most of the menu. She stands there waiting for us to make our decision on the spot. Please give us a minute to choose. She leaves but not before telling us we need to make our decision quickly as the kitchen closes at 8pm. Seriously? The prices suggest this is a fine dining restaurant but the service suggests otherwise. After a minute or two another waiter comes to our table and asks us for our order. I’ll have the risotto thanks. Sorry we don’t have risotto. Okay I’m sorry but that’s it. We politely decline dinner and go down the road to a cafe where we had an amazing dinner, ironically having risotto and salmon — the two dishes we were hoping for. As for the room. Beds were uncomfortable and the ‘king’ bed was two beds pushed together and slowly separating as the mattresses were arranged incorrectly so the zippers designed to keep them together were on the outside! Smoke alarm was alarmingly missing, looking like it had been ripped off the ceiling.

Absolutely bliss! Best place you can go to when you want an escape or to feel like you are away in holidays!

Nice place with clean rooms. Our mattress was a bit old and led my partner and I to wake up with back aches. Apart from that a nice stay.

The staff were friendly and polite. The breakfast was good, and the hotel has ample parking, is in a beautiful spot and the rooms were clean and big. I enjoyed everything about it except the bed which was much closer to the experience of sleeping on a fold out sofa bed than a hotel queen size. It was weird and springy and lumpy. I sleep like a log anyway but it lost a point for that.

Very overpriced, slow service, room service only open for 2 hours, absolutely no mini bar or snacks, complimentary water… nothing! Sad old rooms. The only hotel in kilometers, would not recommend.

Great place to stay if heading down for the weekend. Place looks awesome for summer time visits with an adult's only pool area. Food is absolutely delicious but pricey. Would stay again.

OK facilities, not worth the price we paid for the room for 2 days. The room we got had a terrace balcony overlooking the tennis court and garden area. The bathroom looked a bit rusty in places, the door frame had wood chips in places. Having said that, the room was cleaned daily, reception and other staff were friendly service. I would stay again only if the price is slashed or room decor is improved. Also, the 2 pools on the facility looked dirty and needed cleaning. Definitely not a ‘resort’, resort style pricing does not compliment the facilities offered.

Worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We found hair in our food twice at the restaurant. The rooms were very dirty! Do not ever stay here!

I had a lovely swim, shower, sleep and away in the morning with no fuss at all. For those fussy about age and cleanliness, it needs some renovations, but it is quiet, and pleasant, and the staff were equally engaging to deal with.

Amazing Restaurant! Really good value at the restaurant, friendly staff, entertaining, attentive, happy. Rooms at the hotel are decent although they do not resemble rooms on the website. Restaurant closed for lunch and limited food choices in Hotel. Room service times limited. Adults pool resembles a motel pool. Both pools are dirty. Hotel Staff are a mix mash between slow and not attentive or attentive and kind. No poolside menus. Spa expensive but good quality. No gym or pool spa. No minibars or safes in room so take valuables with you. Hotel has its own clinic of sorts with trained nurse on duty. Vending machines are broken, reception lookw hideous. Would recommend.

The rooms are a decent size and the pool is nice. However, the maintenance is terrible, staff are rude and lazy. At the time we were there the pool gate had to be force closed which means toddlers may be able to get into the pool area. Our phone didn't work. We asked 4 times to have it fixed. Vending machines didn't work in the pool area. There was no toaster in the room. We asked 3 times for a toaster. I ended up having to go to the office and stand there while they went to get me one. The were visibly angry that I had insisted. Bins not emptied in the rooms even though they we full. Didn't replace tea bags etc. It's well located but I couldn't recommend this place to anyone. The staff attitude screams "we don't care".

This is in no way a 4 Star hotel-someone is having a laugh! Good sized rooms but in need of updating terribly. Room didn’t look like it had been dusted in a while-which makes you think of what else hasn’t been properly cleaned… Outside table on balcony was also very dirty. Could do with some decent sized drink glasses and some cheap biscuits to go with tea/coffee making facilities. Overpriced for what you get I’m afraid. My husband has left a seperate review of restaurant-overpriced for what is a badly executed good menu, my husband eats anything and could not finish the lamb dish. We left without bothering with desert and had a bag of malteasers instead!

Ordinary food (sent it back twice for a well over cooked lamb dish and ended up not eating) and tired rooms for Sydney prices. Down rated the next morning now that I have seen the rust in the shower, broken shower head, TV did not work and no one available at 8:30pm because reception closes early and not even a biscuit to go with the measly 2 sachets of coffee provided for a double room.

Excellent location from which to explore the South Coast. Large comfortable rooms which have recently been refreshed. Onsite restaurant is worth visting.

Peaceful and quiet place. Outdoor dinning area and pool are wonderful.

Got married here 2 years ago and it was the worst mistake of my life. Before booking I was given a chance to view how they can setup. I was told it was an actual decorator that comes in to set up and I asked for the exact same as what they had done and even took photos. I specifically asked if the exact same candles etc will be used. I purchased the silver package. On the day the decorations were very cheap. Candles were very uneven as they were so cheap and had to be propped up to stop them falling over. Chaircovers and sashes and tablerunners were also alot cheaper than the setup I had asked for and the quality was lacking everywhere. Staff were rude. The food wasnt what we were assured it would be. Left my guests out in the cold when I wad told theyd be let in at 6pm as thats what I paid for. I had to argue with them to let my guests in about 7pm. They lost my wedding cake and cut the reception short by 3 hours. They wouldnt accept responsibilty for ruining my wedding day, wouldnt offer me partial refund or anything it was like as soon as they had all our money they didnt care what level of service they provided us. I definatly didnt deserve for my wedding day to be like that and 2 years later I still regret ever booking with mercure gerringong. There are alot of other things that went wrong but id be writing a novel so please take my advice and save yourself the heartache and book with another venue thatll actually go above and beyond to make your day perfect.

On the edge of Gerringong, quiet and relaxed, good size standard room. Restaurant is good but a little stuffy if you are traveling solo. I have stayed here a couple of times and it's a good price compared to the local competition.

Booked one night. Paid over $300 and was told we were given a pool side upgrade. This also mean closer to the road. Road noise doesn't bother me but be aware of it does you. The outside area of room was very dirty, leaves and dirt all around. Room was the most disappointing. Smelled mouldy and like it had never been aired! Bathroom had a terrible smell. Mattress smelt mouldy as well. We slept with windows open and had to look for air freshener. I really do t think it was worth what we paid. In need of a good freshen up. I also had a little friend in the shower this morning. A cockroach! Size of room was good. Plenty of room. But in a need of a good clean and airing! Wouldn't stay again and wouldn't recommend.

If I could leave no stars I would for their despicable customer service! Imagine waking up in the dead of the night to something crawling on you so you jump up turn on your light and millions of those small tiny brown cockroaches scurry everywhere kitchen/bedroom and bathroom? Traumatising right? We are not talking about large bush cockroaches, we are talking small tiny infestation cockroaches that get inside electricals and breed, well my friend had the unfortunate reality of experiencing this. Now for the despicable customer service part: When telling the Mercure Gerringong Resort about the ordeal they were told the OWNER would call them, well that didn’t happen my friends had to chase them up (if you OWNED a hotel and this ordeal went down wouldn’t you want to address it? ) anyway when the owner finally spoke to them the first thing he said was “did you get it on camera” (yeh mate because at 4 in the morning when I’ve just whitenesed millions of cockroaches scurry back into the back of the fridge, dishwasher and wherever else they came from I’m really reaching for my phone) when my friend told him no she hadn’t the owner said “well if you didn’t get it on camera there will be no refund” (ahhhhh what refund no one said anything about a refund) where’s your acknowledgement where is the “we are so sorry this happened to you?

Went to a wedding at The Mercure And during the wedding and daylight hours everything was fine up until we went to bed and the light went off, at 4.30 am I woke up to something crawling up my arm, I jumped out of bed and turned the main lights to the room on only to dicover an infestation of cochroaches all running around the kitchen floor and up the fridge and around the cupboards, I then turned on the bathroom light and was mortified to see cochroaches in the sink, bath and there was one even on the toilet seat. Never in my life have I felt more disgusted staying in accomodation like that. I felt trapped because we could not leave due to we both had consumed alcohol at the wedding. We left very early in the morning and when we rang the resort to tell them of our experience got told they will send email to owner and he will rang us. He never did so we had to keep chasing it up, we finally got a hold of him to only be told that we are liars. I also had left my iPhone charger there accidently because we rushed to leave the premises, they have no idea where my charger is! It was absolutely repulsive and I am going to take further action as they won't refund and are extremely rude. Would NEVER recommend or stay here again!

Large room. Comfortable bed but in need of a Reno.

Beautiful town by the beach. The rooms are a little dated and the cleaning could have been a liitle more thorough. The restaurant was nice and the staff were friendly.

Great atmosphere beautiful surroundings. Staff were extremely friendly. Food was excellent.

For a large chain that charges such high rates I would have thought some pride in room presentation would be a given. I was wrong. Large room but the bathroom was terrible. Mouldy floor in shower area, cardboard taped to wall covering a hole? Toilet seat so loose it would have been more comfortable not having one. Mouldy door frame and door and a rusty towel rail with a toilet roll holder ready to fall off. In the bedroom there was a gouge at least a metre long next to the bed from bed head to mirror. Poor standard of maintenance.

We stayed over the period between Christmas and New Year. Very dissatisfied with stay given the price we payed for four nights. Staff were not friendly, rooms were poorly serviced very late in the day and towels not replaced, everyday they ran out of pool towels, large garbage bins outside rooms that smelled so bad, bags of dirty linen always outside rooms. We had a meal in the dining room with guests and mains took 1.5hrs and the waitress burst into tears when serving us telling us her manager walked out as she had been yelled at. A child vomited beside our table that night (we were on verandah) it took over 10 minutes for someone to clean it up. No soap or towels in dining room toilets even after we requested soap to be put in there it never happened. And we still paid over $250 to eat there that night. My husband spoke to reception about our issues they said they would pass it on to management. Hope they can fix it up this was our fourth and final stay.

Great facilities, located at he northern entrance of Gerringong. Beach is a short walk away.

Room was great, dinner at restaurant very nice. Breakfast was good but the pricing was not very good as there was 5 couple all eating breakfast. But price range from $20 for one couple, other couples $30, I just had one me and it cost $22.50. Not good should look at prices. Only negative.

A little bit run down they need to spend a bit of cash. No early check out very annoying. Staff ok could be friendlier. Room could. Of been cleaned better. Dirty iron left a mark on my brand new shirt I was wearing to a wedding at the hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Mercure Gerringong for 3 days last week. Although the service is good and the staff professional, the place itself is far from good. These are the main problems: 1. Filthy bathrooms with mold and filth buildup visible in the shower and around the toilet 2. Filthy pools and run-down facilities 3. Low water pressure in shower and sink (so you will not get a decent wash) 4. Bathroom facilities broken or faulty (our shower and toilet seats were broken) 5. Air-conditioning did not work and just made a lot of noise. We had to complain and then they had to call a technician who made it work. It was still noisy afterwards. 6. Breakfast is ok, but they insist on using the powdered egg instead of real scrambled eggs which tastes like chewy mush 7. We were told twice that they had run out of towels 8. Room maintenance missed on one of the days 9. The 'fresh' towels provided by room service were worn-out and had an unpleasant odor. The place is definitely only a 3 star facility, at best.! We won't be going back again unless they make some fundamental improvements to their facility and equipment.

Was absolutley S**t was filthy rude staff, extremely over priced filthy rooms dirty, beds, dirty floors dust everywhere dead bugs mould dingy filthy lounge no hot water no toilet paper broken TV no heater, I've stayed in cheaper motels that were 1000x better I would not recommend Gerringong mercure to anyone for staying or having a function was absolutely hopeless will never go back there they have taken extra money out of my bank and did not refund my deposite.

Aircon wasn't working in our room. Reception promised to send someone, but never came and we found out later reception had gone home without giving us an update. Another two phone calls at night but it couldn't be fixed. Complained when checking out the next morning, reception promised that the manager would call us for follow up. It's been a week and no call at all! On the other hand the restaurant was good. So skip staying there and just to for dinner.

I havent even stayed there yet though Ive booked and the phone service is terrible, very difficult to book with the old story" leave a message and we'll get back to you" which they never did, numerous phone calls later I finally got through though never did recieve the confirmation email they promised, had to chase that up as well. Wish me luck.

Worst customer service hotline ever.

Nice "resort" but the room we stayed in was a bit too simple for 4.5 stars worth of motel (and price). Staff were pleasant and breakfast was adequate though perhaps somewhat pricey for the quality.

Just had my third stay at this resort for 2013, continue to be delighted by the friendliness of the staff, and the amenities of the resort. This time I enjoyed a treatment in the day spa, and would recommend this to anyone thinking of a small indulgence. Dinner in the restaurant was wonderful, shared the tasting plate entrée with my companion, and we thought that nothing could have been improved. Rooms were large, comfortable and with an understated elegance. Complimentary products were of high standard. Nothing was too much trouble, would visit here again.
