Functional Motel, perfect for a night if you are passing in Canberra heading to Sidney, for example, and avoid the hubbub of the city (it is a saying, because this city does not seem to be very busy ever, works apart). Good breakfast in a very nice place next to the pool, spacious rooms and lots of parking. €106 a triple room in May 2018.

In an easy to access part of Canberra and very easy to find, we arrived late and reception were more than happy to accommodate for this. The room was great value for what we had, always very clean and beds are extremely comfortable. Reception was always willing to attend to any questions or requests that we had. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly be stopping here on any future trips to Canberra!

I would like to thank Cosmo for his service provided. Upon checking out my husband had left his wallet in the hotel room drawer which contained more than $300. We were not aware of it. Cosmo contacted me and told me that wallet and a telephone charger was found in the room by cleaning staff. I am so grateful and thankful with the hotel staff and honesty shown, as in the wallet was not only money but all important cards. Thank you once again for informing us and for prompt action taken by Cosmo. Much obliged. Hotel accommodation was perfect very clean and fresh.

The room was great, good amenities, however my only complaint was I'd like cutlery in the room, other then that this place was nice and friendly, quick check in and out.

My wife and I were down for the weekend and looking to relax, the motel did that by the wonderful greeting at reception through to the great staff at dinner and breakfast. A very relaxing weekend indeed, thank you.

The Best Western Plus Garden City Hotel consists of a nice, clean, only two-level but big building, a very impressive backyard with a pool, and reasonable amount of parking spaces. The hotel is not far from the Canberra airport and located in the middle of a quiet road with no other buildings around, much like the majority of Canberra hotels. The rooms are quite clean and self-contained, but absolutely nothing fancy or exciting here; though, they still worth the hotel's budget rates. Overall, if you looking for a comfortable one to few nights stay to do a business in Canberra, this is the hotel for you.

Fairly cheap and cheerful. Clean room, decent size for the price. Showers were good. Check in staff not terribly friendly, but they were efficient.

The breakfast was better than a year ago but still not intoxicating. The pool is small and dirty.

This is a good location in the Canberra suburbs, easy enough to get around to other parts of the city as long as you have a car. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was older but comfortable and spotless, with very effective air-conditioning. The hotel was very quiet, bar the occasional noise from the plumbing when a neighbour was showering. The shower was a blessing, with good quality toiletries and plentiful hot water. The water pressure dropped when a neighbouring room started using it, but was still perfectly adequate.

Very tidy clean room intelligent staff great service will go there again.

Extra helpful and friendly staff. I was happy with the amenities of the room, with plenty of power points for our electronic devices. Just don't expect to do much on their complimentary Wi-Fi network.

Worst Western. Small rooms, old decor, out the middle of nowhere. I had to put up with car alarms, noisy arrivals and waking up to someone walking into my room while I was asleep. I won't ever stay here again and neither should you.

Very happy with our stay here came here with a largish group for the weekend & we were all very happy with the friendly staff, breakfast & size of our rooms. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Canberra. Will be going back there on our next trip!

My wife spent the night it hospital after eating from the restaurant. After explaining her allergies we were told a certain dish was safe for her. It wasnt. When we told Them she was having a reaction there was no concern or apology. Just told us the kitchen was busy.

Got a free upgrade to a very nice room. Highly recomend!

The rooms are lovely, the meals are great, the staff is really friendly and sweet, the bed is so comfy the bathroom is spotless and the whole motel is awesome I love it.

Does the job, cheapish accommodation with a feel that makes you think nothing much has changed since it was built in the eighties but it's close to town has free Wi-Fi and all the amenities you need.

Room was clean and tidy, but pretty small so we felt a bit cramped. The man on the front desk at check-in was lovely, the room service was good and the location was quiet.

Stayed in a 3-person room with a double and single bed. Room and bathroom were small, but generally clean and tidy. Not too much noise from outside or inside. However, the room was really cold and the reverse-cycle air conditioner wasn't very good. We had to pull out extra blankets to stay warm overnight. Also, the privacy curtains had a bunch of torn holes in them, which was a weird piece of disrepair. Thankfully the inner curtains were still intact.

Staff is great and prices are reasonable. Stay away from the breakfast which you could do much better elsewhere. The free breakfast means only cereal and some basics, $10 per head for "hot food" if you want it. Bathrooms are small and walls are thin.

It is well located, handy to Canberra city, the Manuka food and entertainment area. Easy access to major roads north and south. The motel is clean and comfortable. Restaurant and bar are well priced and good quality. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Professional, friendly staff and only 10-15 mins drive from Parliament House precinct and all its attractions. Pros: Rooms well appointed and comfortable. Nice pool. Free parking. Good menu at the restaurant incl room service. Cons: Bar fridge a little on the small side if you want to chill a couple of wine bottles (it fits about 4 cans, and 4 mini bottles). Free Wi-Fi but I only got.

Good room with air conditioning, friendly staff, great if your going to the baseball.

Nice hotell. Even have a large swimming area in the back. Wi-Fi was slow, and needs upgrade.

Not family friendly, refused to book a room for 2 adults and 2 children under 2. Insisted we book a 2nd room or stay elsewhere. We were happy to supply travel cot and bassinet but still turned down. The website makes no mention of this limit and only asks about kids over 2.

I was locked in my room for 2hours due to a faulty door which the maintainance man couldn't fix/open so kicked the door in. At check out I was chastized and accused of breaking their door from "over use! ". By some obese, overbearing, arrogant, ignorant, foul mouthed and disgusting woman who said she was the manager! I guess it didnt help when I laughed at her for being a bitch and indicated how old, dated and delapadated the dive was. I complained to Best Western Australia and got an apology but nothing from these maggots! This was on the whole the worst stay at any budget dungeon I have had the displeasure of staying at. Further more, the rooms are stale smelling, dated and unhygenic. The TV didnt work and the clock radio only just. Most painful 2hrs clearing out the bar fridge. The food from the resturant was mediocre at best with a price tag more fitting in 5star accommodation. Stay at any other best western. You've been warned! 4 stars.

We booked our room via Last Minute and used their 4.5 star Mystery Hotel deal. It stats 'Save upto 70%'. I guess the 'UPTO' came into play here. We paid $123p/n for 2 nights including continental breaky. If we had walked in off the street we would have paid between $120p/n to $139p/n plus $15 each for breakfast. So I guess there is a small saving. So to our stay. The hotel is pleasant and nicely presented. Located on the outskirts of Canberra but still only 5 minutes drive to Manuka. There is a nice pool area which was getting good use by about 6 kids and plenty of off street free parking. Our twin room was nicely renovated and inviting with a Queen and single bed, also a small table and 2 chairs. It wasn't big though and the bathroom was very small. It came with free Wi-Fi which we easily connected to and free Cable TV. In the morning we made our way downstairs to breakfast. For some reason our booking had missed adding the breakfast. All was sorted out after showing the email confirmation. The Continental breakfast was ok though the auto coffee machine made a bad coffee, and I mean really bad, watery and flavorless. Staff were pleasant but sadly I felt I was interrupting them when checking in and in the restaurant. So would I stay there again. For the price I'd say yes, but I did have to think about it.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 8 days while we were on a business trip. The rooms were equipped with modern amenities and free Wi-Fi internet. The staff was kind and very helpful. The food at the restaurant was very expensive, but excellent! (Service was a little slow so we had to make sure we had plenty of time to dine. ) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only complaint that we had is that the cleaning staff was not very thorough. The bed was not always made. Sometimes I had to call the front desk for towels or coffee packets. If you do not rent a car, this hotel is not for you. There really aren't any shops or restaurants near it. You need to drive everywhere.

Very basic rooms, tiny bathroom with squashy showers. I find it amusing that it has been continually remodeled since 1988, yet the rooms are still straight out of the 80's. Due to the fact that Manuka is just down the road we did not have need to eat in the hotel. Good: Close to Manuka. Cheap to stay. 9k from the center of Canberra. Bad: Old rooms. Mini tv.
