One of the nicest hostels of my trip in Patagonia. Great Location with a view of the lake. Very clean common areas. Bars and services for excursions.

I booked a room with mountain view and I don't regret a single thing about it. Great view, the room is well maintained, spacious and they clean it everyday. The bathroom is good with enough amenities. The restaurant has BBQ night everynight. The most important thing, they have all of the excursions in Calafate. So if you don't prepare, they can totally help you. Very recommended!

Nice lobby view. Pretty chill vibes. Breakfast is lackluster though. Facilities and room (I had the house on the side) was good, but I happened to had to walk back and forth to the reception many times for a variety of reasons, like shower not working. At least, I had a helpful/informative young dude at the reception, so service was great. FYI, private taxi to Perito Moreno glacier is about $2100 ars from their contact and not worth it at all. Ride is 1.5hr each way, and I spent 2 hrs there (barely) before I got too bored and came back.

The best hostel I was in Argentina. Excellent panoramic view, ambience, comfort and the best care of all the accommodations I was in. Everyone, absolutely everyone who caters to the hostel will help you in everything and ask you all the time how your trip is going. It goes beyond being hostile, I felt like at home from the first moment I arrived! I am already out a day ago and I would go back haha there are more favorable things but highlighted these that move away above all others.

Beautiful place and great atmosphere! It's probably the most beautiful hostel i've ever seen, the common room nicely decorated, with a chimney and mostly this stunning panoramic view and good music to it. The rooms are quite basic but good, unfortunately I got a squeaky bed, but my boyfriend didnt. And the staff was super friendly and helpful for everything we needed, thanks for everything! :)

The worst part of our stay was the treatment we received from Jessica the receptionist. She made an honest mistake and booked us onto a tour (while we weren't even in the hostel) which we had not even discussed or contemplated taking. The first we heard of this is when she told us we owed her a cancellation fee for not showing up to the tour we didn't book on. After explaining we weren't even present in the hostel to have booked onto the tour she accused us of lying and that we were effectively saying she wasn't capable of doing her job. This thought hadn't crossed my mind until that comment, at which point she was spot on. Rather than admitting her mistake, she questioned our integrity and was plain rude about it. Be very careful you're not ripped off by her. Patrick, the other receptionist, was great and talked us through our options in town when we first arrived. Noisy hostel until late at night, no Wi-Fi in the outbuilding. The breakfast is poor, only sweet options with no fruit most days. There is only one 4 slice toaster (of which only half works) for everyone to use. This hostel might one day have warranted a good review (all their awards are 5+ years old) but it needs a bit of a rethink.

Very nice common area. Reception people were the best, super helpful. Room was cozy. Shower was too small, and practically no pressure, only a thin stream of water. Water temperature was good.

If there were more stars I'd give him more. The building is nice, well located and the visit it has is amazing. If you are one who loves to go out and not be still I recommend it because they designed for that, you sell food for excursions, you arm the excursions (and offers are the cheapest) and laundry services. A well deserved 10

I've been to probably over 50+ hostels and this is the most memorable. The views are STUNNING and the restaurant/hang out space is so cozy. The rooms were simple but comfortable and we even had an ensuite bathroom in our 4 person dorm. I highly recommend this hostel!

The location overlooks the town and lake. The hostel as a really nice open planned chill out area with var. Possibly one of the best hostels in Patagonia!

I think it's the best hostel I've ever been in. The attention and good vibe is huge. A great atmosphere. Aesthetically beautiful. A great view. The rooms have a private bathroom. Everything is well thought out for your comfort. A applause thank you!

Amazing Hostel! Once you enter the place, you'll be greeted by cozy common and dining room PLUS the view of Lago Argentino. The staff are very friendly and the room is quite clean as well. If you come unprepared, worry not; they have all the excursions you need :)

Great hostel. Big lockers. Great staff, the Austrian on the front desk is super helpful. The after checkout luggage room could be a little more secure.

A great hostel. The rooms are a good enough size for 4 beds. Compact shower and toilet. Great communal space and the view is incredible. The Wi-Fi is mostly reliable. Note that all decent hostels are pretty expensive here.

Worst value for money. I don’t know why people even give good rating. Their Wi-Fi hardly works with only one router — big problem. Bathroom has no locks and shower is so tiny. While there is nothing special, their rate for dormitory was so high, that it was the highest price I paid for a hostel in entire South America.

Well organized, know all the tricks possible and we can buy on the spot. A lot of people in this hostel. The view is great in the dining room. Possibility of having hot meals on site, there is a cook. On the other hand it is expensive for the food but it is everywhere the same!

Besides the rooms everything was great in terms of the amenities. The bus stop and downtown is a 20 minute walk. About a 30 minute drive from El Calefate airport. Decent view from the outside patio of the mountain, lake and town.

We "splurged" a bit staying here, but well worth it. They have a great view of the lake and mountains, and it had the character of a ski lodge. Nice restaurant as well.

Very nice. A lot of people but well organized. Take the CB. The Wi-Fi could be a little + quick and the kitchen area improved but we're not going to quibble.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The towel is given for rent for 40 pesos. The views from the windows are beautiful, the central street is seven minutes walk. Great location.

Great hostel, with an amazing view over the lake. They had a BBQ one night and the food was out of this world. Breakfast was pretty good too. Tours can be booked directly here, however some are overpriced, opt for the smaller one.

Wonderful place to stay during the trip through Argentina and Chile. Great staff who showed us around in hostel. Nice music and cozy atmosphere in common place. Room was decent.

The staff is very welcoming and kind. As soon as my girlfriend and I arrived, they showed us the hostel and its surrounding area and all possible trips and famous attractions. The common area is quite charming and uplifted, the restaurant serves great food and our accommodation was very comfortable.

Really lovely hostel, atmosphere was great due to all the people working there and everything offered! The restaurant is incredible and the kitchen very well stocked for cooking for yourself. Included breakfast is also good. Would 100% recommend!

Very good location (walking distance to city centre) and amazing view. I really liked the lodge style and friendly staff. The rooms are ok, I was not expecting more than a bed in a shared room so I did not have big expectations in that sense. There were lockers in the room which is good but you need to bring your own padlock. I was also lucky with my roommates and met interesting people. Highly recommend if you don't want to spend a lot of money on accommodation and save it for the amazing excursions :) the bathroom could be improved but for the price I can't complain.

Great place as everybody says, but I guess it really depends on what your after. Very lively with music, the dorm we were in had only 2 bunk beds so good too. Downside was the kitchen. It's tiny for the number of guests. And the guests themselves. Not very respectful of others. The kitchen was a mess every single night and I can only blame it on the travellers.

Awesome and cheap place to stay in a really cool little town with astounding views. The staff is friendly and helpful and are great at arranging things to do around El Calafate and the surrounding sights. I would highly recommend it if you're in the area.

A warm place, with a beautiful view. It includes breakfast and you can eat a delicious menu to 180pesos. Cleaning is excellent and the people attending are super attentive, solve you virtually all.

The best accommodation in el calafate.

Our reservation was cancelled by America del Sur Hostel upon our arrival at their hostel. They informed us that they overbooked and that they did not have room for us, despite the fact that we had book over 4 months in advance and had communicated with them repeatedly (including the day before we were to arrive). They booked us in another hostel that, if we had been given proper notice, we would not have booked in. Furthermore, until we repeatedly stopped by the hostel, they were adamant about not returning our deposit that we paid ahead of time. During this process, one of the employees of the hostel informed us that they overbook almost every day, and that they bump existing reservations if another patron offers more money for the same room. I would not trust them with any existing reservation as they do not seem to value their clientele, but only the amount of money they can make.

They are already several times that I have been and always repeat that the guys are re cool and help you in anything you need 5 stars for being the most beautiful, it has the best view, rooms have their own bathroom and common areas are very warm and you can rest, ah and ask for the Camilo pudding for breakfast.

The price was axesible, including friendly, heating 24: hs, free Wi-Fi and comfortable rooms.
Price winter 2013: $75 per person with sleep.

Excellent space nestled on a hill high above town, with gorgeous panoramic views of the lake. We lucked into a bedroom in what was a standalone two-bedroom house with its own kitchen, dining room, and picture windows. Incredible value for the modest cost, and a very walkable distance to town.

Great views, friendly staff, comfortable rooms with private bathroom and warm everywhere (radiant floor heating). They have an asado every night and Pato is very helpful. Paid about 35 ARS in a dorm.
